You kids got no sense of adventure !!!! Ya gotta pull a trailer over the GW Bridge to truly experience all the fun. I tow the race car thru there for Etown and Atco. Pulled countless projects thru there. Can't tell ya how many times the trailer's been hit by morons. They'll let the truck go, BUT NOT THAT GUY BEHIND HIM !!! Dammit -- we're connected !!!!

I got that a few times with a car on the back of a wrecker. Even with the car flashers on, dome flasher on the truck PLUS the light bar affixed to the car in tow, some numbnut wanted to get between the car and wrecker. People on 'ludes should not drive! The Clearview and Cross Bronx (aka Clusterfuck) Expressways were a toss up for nimrod drivers making the day interesting.

Screaming down the Southern State pkwy in my flamed 32 roadster [ top off, pipes open ] onto the Cross Island pkwy, over the Throgs Neck Bridge to the Bronx. West on the cross Bronx to the Major Deagan. Off on River Ave, down to 161 st and bingo YANKEE STADIUM. Real New Yorkers know how to drive 75 mph in a 50 miss the pot holes, dodge the a$$holes with the out of state plates in the left lane doing 40 and know were we are going without some GPS. Thats why were are WORLD CHAMPIONS.

  5. Only time I got anywhere close to that I went I80 from PA late evening, hit the Garden State to Route 9 to around Red Bank. Route 9, 30 miles of three lane No U Turn No Left Turn pass a Dunkin Donuts on the left, within a mile pass another on the right so they get both sides covered, thankfully just about devoid of traffic by 9:30 PM. I have to think if I had to go back anywhere near there again I'd plan to either drive through at night, or stop and take a nap until it was night when I got into the general area.

And that was well outside of anything you'd consider the city. I went back like 287 to NY 17/I86 to come home. 17 was great once you got past the Thruway.
