Sounds like a good idea for a social group.

By the way I lived in Greenpoint from 72-77. My old neighborhood sure is nice now.

I say we all meet at the 2010 Belmont Racetrack show and have ourselves a H.A.M.B. BBQ by the gates in the back.Break out some Dogs,Burgers and PBR's and have a good time.
This one will be an open invitation to all who live in NYC & NY state if you can make it down to that show.
Its not a traditional Hot Rod show, its more of a custom show with no cut-off year. You can bring any car to the show as long as its got some kind of custom **** on it.

I would be STOKED about meeting more guys/gals from the H.A.M.B. in 2010.

what do ya'll think about this idea?

Sounds good, Ralphy Boy. When is it?

BTW I am a Brooklyn kid (burbs now).

Wanna talk about overcoming obstacles? Build a car at the curb, fighting alternate side of the street parking and all the rest.

The first car show at Belmont Racetrack is around the March/April time but if we can get something going for their summer time car show that would be great.Lets see if we can do a "meet & greet" or just drink a few beer and check out the cars.

I could swing by for the early event but I won't bring anything nice if there is still salt on the roads. I think the same outfit runs events in Saint James at Gyrodyne, and that might be a good place to check out, also.

so when it gets nicer out, in the 2010 car season, I'll put up another thread about who wants to kick it at Belmont or have any other New Yorker choose a spot where we can "MEET & GREET" and see where we go from there.

I work in midtown NYC every day and love it. I live in Westchester County though. I need to see trees to maintain what little sanity I have left. :D
Born in California, but raised in da Bronx before moving to the burbs, where the garages are.
