Is it ok to use Nylocks on Grade 8 bolts. I am replacing the front leaf spring bolt and was just wondering whether to use nylock nuts or regular nuts with lock washers?

you can use them, but you need to remember that you can only use them once.
if you ever remove them you have to buy new ones,or put lockwashers under them.

Well, they do make grade 8 nylon lock nuts. Never new they were available tell going to the local hardware store and noticed them. I'll be using to secure the brackets to the frame for the sway bar on a 60' Pontiac. There are another type of self locking grade 8 nuts too, little expensive (there silver in color).

I guess you use the lock type sealant compound too (There's various strength, low, medium, high, etc.)

Just left Tractor supply and they did not have the Grade 8 Locking bolts, so I just bought the regular locking ones, but I also got some grade 8 nuts and lock washers tooo. Just in case.
