O.K. Now does your car have a name?? and why?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by time-bomb john, Mar 14, 2008.

  1. My old, beat up yellow pickup truck, long gone, was "Rags The Tiger".

My roadster is "Hot Stuff". Named after me, of course.

My cars (and any other inanimate object) don't have generally have names. They are definately it. However, I do admit that they have a persionality though. I did once drive a 1970 Saab that had a name ("The Green Machine"). But it was still an "it".

Wrecking Ball. My friend named it (my schwinn. :> ) after we played a game of chicken, and neither of us stopped. I guess the bent wheel and scratched fender were enough to give it a nick name.

Been looking for a gas mileage car, refused to do the throw away import. Just found 1983 Thunderbird, first year for the aero-coupe. This one is a low milage 2.3 liter turbo coupe. It's awesome, runs like a stripped ass ape and gets nearly 27 miles to the gallon. Speaking of "awesome" it is red and reminds me of "Awesome" Bill Elliot back in the day. Been calling the car, Bill.

The previous owner of my 42 Ford Pickup got the throttle hung wide open and ran it up over a center island and across a busy road and over a sidewalk before it came to rest on a parking curb. He started calling it Curby, I changed it to Kirby when I got it, but kept the same basic name... That was working on 15 years ago...

I have a truck named Ed. It was painted on the door when I bought it. At that time there was an add on tv with a homely woman squaking to some guy that "we need a bigger truck Ed", and the name just sort of clicked.

  15. The Lazy 8 was named that long before I was around, but I asked the original builder, and he said he and his brothers were sittin around in the garage and that was the name that stuck, no reason...as for the Rebel Reaper, It sort for has a dual meaning. I originally was going to put the motor from the Grant Rebel funny car in the gasser, but the "test" motor has more than proven its worth, so I will some day recreate the Grant Rebel. As for the other meaning, I guess the Rebel Reaper is rebelling against the Grim Reaper....or cheating time and death.

Haven't named any of mine. Guess I just never understood the concept. Some guys have pet names for their dicks, too. I don't understood that one either.

even though it is known as Clark's T, we call it "The Grin Reaper" Everyone who rides in it just sits there and grins. Seems appropriate

I call my hot rod "the big car".............I call my commuter car "the little car". The reasons should be obvious.

My car is called the "Outside Cat" because it rarely gets to come inside the garage.

Usually we just refer to it as "the wagon" though for obvious reasons.
