Wouldn't that run lean when the two fueless carbs dump a bunch of air into the motor?

I had collected parts (two 2x2 adapters an a 2x4 intake) to do that originally on my 29 before going with the 6x2 set up.

that looks really good. what dual carb intake did you start with

pastduebill, you block off the fuel to the two carbs you are not running in addition to blocking off the bottom of the carbs to the intake (thin sheetmetal plate) so no fuel or air is going thru them

That intake and carb set up looks bitchin'..

I need to ask a question..wouldn't it be much safer to run steel lines from the fuel pump up to the carbs or fuel rail?
and use hose for the area that would be subject to "flex"? like from frame rail to fuel pump?
rubber hose on top of a hot manifold just looks like a fire hazzard to me.

and if you are going to run dummy carbs ..I would agree to at least make them look like they are in opperational part of your set up.

Sorry guys, this is nothing new, "been there, done that, got the t-shirt, and already wore it out". I have built a number of these over the past few years and they work well with all 4 going especially (and you'll like this Duane-Stromberg97) when using strombergs.

No, there are to long. You couldn't get the dizzy in. And by the way, that's 2GC's.

No shit. Hauling ASS "IS" what hotrodding is all about. I go fast,...then,... I look good doing it. I do it for the Rush, not the Glitter. I think that set-up looks killer, and see no reason why it shouldn't work well. Hook it up and GO!

I tried a couple years ago to put a couple of those adapters on a tunnel ram, but the center carbs wouldn't clear each other. Looks cool!

Hey dickster set up looks cool, how does it run with those spacers on the 4x2's. Does it clear the dizzy o.k.??

  18. I think a lot of the nay saying is from guys who have never tried it. I was running 13.20's with a dual progressive linkage with four 97's on my hemi. Setup wasn't nearly as hard as so many tried to make it out to be, it ran hard, and with the progressive setup it got decent mileage.

    Nice looking setup Brandon.

I'll have to squirt by in the GTO sometime soon and check out your 4X2s all in a row, as well as the rest of your A-bone build.

Yip, a Mallory falls right in with not only dizzy clearance but the wires aren't jammed either. The risers help to atomize the fuel for a little better efficency, plus is necessary as Dixon states to clear the dizzy.

Hey brother, welcome to the HAMB. And to everyone out there, Brandon has this set up dialed in and it runs as great as it looks. Dixon is an innovative young guy who builds his own shit, and does it damn well - his hot rod is driven and raced every chance he gets. Plus he is one hell of a rockabilly bass player too!

  22. How about a real inline 4-2 bbl intake for a SBC?

    HOLY SHIT!
    Thats KILLER!
    Tell me about it please??
    Who made it?? Custom??
What distributor fit's that thing...stock points style clears the rear carb?
    Very nice!

  24. Well, it's not custom but an aftermarket cast aluminum intake. The manufacturers name has been ground/polished off. As far as distributor, it was originally set up with a distributor angle drive to clear the rear carb - I'm trying to find one as I WILL run this setup on a SBC in something, just not sure what yet. Have a nice, low mile 327 on the stand as we speak, may go on it.

Oh, and it's an Inglese intake, it actually was equipped with 4 Weber DCNF downdraft carbs (which I also have). Makes a smallblock look kinda like a vintage Maserati V8.

There was one just listed on e-bay for $425 but the auction got pulled. I sent a e-mail to get more info on it and never got a response..The guy also had a man-a-fre intake with the man-a-fre carbs but it was big big money i'm sure!!
