some pictures of the trailer my dads buddy picked up out west... We think it was home-built late thirdies early forties??? not really sure. It had a cloth top on it, a two top gas stove, and a sink!....INSIDE!! plus a fold down table and room for a twin bed!! Here are some pics Oh... never mind the dented S-10 in the back ground..., just a fathers day gift a year or so ago!!
That thing is super sweet looking. I'd be really impressed if it was homemade, sure doesn't look like it. Needs to be lowered with fender skirts, though. What's he going to do with it? Any interior pics? What would a guy have to pay for something like that? I like it and I want one.
Here's a link you might be interested in: VINTAGE MOBILE HOMES click here That little trailer is really cool looking. Got any pics of the interior?
I agree on it not being homemade. I REALLY would like to know what the bumper is. Let's see the inside.
Hey Matt, how much MEAT do you think we can stack in there? With a big tub of vasolene and some **** eze I bet we could CRAM 10 in there, well maybe 9 if we are talking about big Michigan meat. What's he gonna pull it behind?
That is the most amazing trailer I've ever seen. I also don't think it's homemade, it looks like it was made by an airplane company, like Grummann or something. It looks like a fairly easy fix, you'll have to get some of that aircraft material and dope, I've seen it for sale on ebay. And yes that bumper's amazing.
Isn't there a trailer like that in the Henry Ford museum? Similar, but bigger? Am I thinkin about the Howard Hughes trailer? Any you Detroit folks know what I'm babbling about??
yeah guy's I have a hard time thinking it's homemade...basicly because of the bumper, but the tongueonly goes under it a few feet, and it is very weak looking. He plans on hauling it behind.... um....the fifty two p/u and Regret (32 sedan) and possibly the R-p/u when it is done. Plow*****...you better stop all this "gay talk"....I am a GMB but I do like my women! sorry. Nads, The trailer is in excellent shape considering the amount of time it spent outside. the skin is press board and it had a foil type tape or something over that...it will be skinned in Alum. when he gets to working on it. Earl Schieb, I vaguely remember seeing that trailer, it has been many years since I've been there. And it is pretty big....almost too big to haul behind a Deuce.... I'll get some interior shots today.
There were companies making these teardrop trailers but most were home made. Plans are commonly available to make your own.
Special Interest Autos magazine had a feature in a late 70s issue on a 34 or 35 Packard Travel Trailer. It was a LOT bigger than yours but of somewhat similar design and construction. I'm not saying yours is a trailer made by Packard, but I think it may date from the mid 1930s.
First off, sailor, it ain't just talk. You of all people oughtta know that! You said your dad's buddy picked it up, I ***umed it was his buddy's. I think it would go well behind the truck. Trailers behind hot rods are kind of like crack *****s with teeth. It just ain't right. Smooooovemouf!
