I'm an eclectic collector. I tend to collect a myriad of different things.
I have all the Star Wars actions figures, still in their boxes.
Along with a 12" 1991 Duke GI Joe when they first came back and in desert camo, still in the box.
I have quite a few comic books too. #1+#2 Punisher, #1+#2 Silver Surfer, a shitload of Spidey+Xmen, etc etc. They're bagged and boarded and stashed in the closet.
I have two antique milk bottles full of foreign beer bottle caps.
All my flight gear from the Navy.
A few cards too. A Sergei Federov Rookie card from the Detroit Red Wings that is in a frame with a photocopy of his 1998 14million dollar sign on bonus, both sides, so I have his signature too (got that from a bud that worked at the bank he deposited it at).
Four Albert Pujols cards, all autographed.
And a Red Mirror Babe Ruth Materials card. Which means it has a swatch of pants he wore in a major league game and a piece of a bat he used in a major league game. (I'd like to sell those 5 cards, but not sure how to go about doing it, I collect, so not familiar with the selling aspect of it..lol. Any info/advice would be appreciated)
I don't photo much of my stuff, but here's a couple pics...

Oh, and BC Rich Warlock guitar signed by Kerry King from Slayer...

And one of my favorite pieces, though it's not worth much, is an ejection seat I got while in the Navy and turned into a desk chair....

I'll collect anything that interests me and looks old. I work in heating and air, and am always looking for old things relating to it. I have a shelf in my office at work that has some of the stuff I have collected over the years relating to HVAC, old gages, thermostats and the like.

I have a original unopened milner dragster model kit that would look awfully good next to that milner coupe kit. Nate

  8. got a colection of Caterpillar equipment, dozers, graders and what knot, a lot harder to move than a car and tough to repair  oldest is a 1929 and should run, too old to crank it up rebilding a 1938 R2 so I can get the garage stall for Rodding!!! 2 wks and it should track out the door:D!!!!

I am looking for something Hot Wheels for display with a show truck which has Hot Wheels Brand rims, seen a neon sign in the CA garage tours that would be nice in a show display?????

Had Cushman Motor Scooters at one time but run out of $$ and sold off a few and then sold out the rest of the spares, was actuallty nice to make them run now, could not buy or afford any parts as a child

  9. Coupe-d-Cab has a HUGE Evil Knievel collection too!!!

  10. Don't know if I posted this before, but my mom had a big collection of Doll Dishes, made by Acro Agate. They used to make marbles also. They were based in Acron ,Ohio. I kept them when she passed, because I packed them and un-packed them,OVER AND OVER,for her at shows, and will never part with them. I think there is about 150 sets or so. Not sure cause they are all wrapped up. I'm gonna leave them to a granddaughter someday,I hope!!!
I looked some pieces up on E-bay once and couldn't believe how much they were worth!

The first and last pictures are awesome and bring back memories.

In the first picture, I had the Cox trike. My tires developed flat spots from sitting on the shelf too long. :)

    In the last picture:

That helmet on the top left is the same one I used to
wear when I rode my XR75 back in the 70's. It was a premier brand.

The purple battery powered T-bucket ride-on toy is what I really wanted I was about 4 or 5. It had a big foot for the gas pedal, right?
I had the matching orange corvette type car.

Thanks very much for posting these....

Yeah, if you notice I have mine sitting on a piece of stiff styrofoam with the wheels suspended. I have the metalflake Dune Buggy also...

The Hot Foot! Yep, the gas pedal is a foot. It's not my original from my childhood but it's an NOS one that I picked up at vintage toy show. Never even had a battery in it...

    I love this stuff.

  16. My weaknesses consist of... Sinclair products, Pabst Blue Ribbon items, neon lights, anything old (signs, cans, magazines, advertisements, helmets, etc...) just has so much more character than new stuff.

To all you guys who have cool old (VINTAGE) signs, posters, etc........where do you find them ? I have been looking for vintage posters on Ebay but have not had any luck. Maybe I am trying the wrong catagories, but I never seem to find anything good like that.

Jeez, who's your mom? I worked for Kenner during the Star Wars years and threw away stuff that is worth thousands now. I sold what I had left for practically nothing at a collector toy show yeras ago.

I collect so much crap I need to get selling. Some examples attached.

My best friend is HEAVY into Star Wars and classic movies. He ended up buying a print once from a guy at a show who ended up having a Print / memorabilia store in a mall near us. He specialized in hard to find stuff. My friend and I would show up and he would always go into the back to get the super rare and mint shit that he knew he would be interested in. The more common stuff was in the store, the good stuff was in the back for repeat/discriminating customers. He did get some pretty good deals and worked a few trades.
I guess I am saying find someone into the same thing and become friends. Go to the comic and toy shows. Usually good source of stuff there at least make some contacts.
Ebay may work out but hard to get a good deal if it is truly rare, unless there was a listing error.

  20. I have blue prints of the FX holden ( first non chevy GM cars in Australia ) my grand father pulled from the trash. I think they look cool on the wall in picture frames at home

  21. That would be cool! What a great and unique thing to have, great save. I just received a copy of Ford's original blueprints for the 427 SOHC motor. I think they are pretty cool.

Man I like these threads! It's amazing the collections some of you have, and it's also amazing the vast array of different things that appeal to folks. I have been a collector of everything since I was a kid, but in the last 7 or 8 years, I have been "uncollecting"! After we got clobbered with 3 hurricanes in a row a few years back, I started to realize that the boxes and boxes of shit in my attic, much of it very valuable, could easily have ended up in the marsh behind my house, destroyed and lost forever. I made a decision to keep the things I really loved, and part ways with the rest. I had already sold a huge amount of my Hot Wheels collection, I had 7 or 8 thousand cars, when I started building my real coupe. I made a ton of money off it, and never looked back. I have sold off my slot car collections of all scales, a huge amount of vintage models, all my spare car parts, and antiques of all kinds, mostly toys. I have to admit, that I have had a good deal of the stuff posted here pass thru my hands over the years. I enjoy them for a while, and when I tire of them, sell them and make a little money usually. Here's a few collections I still have, and most of this stuff is out for display either in my home or at my office:

Antique and vintage eyewear and optical equipment. I'm an optician of 30 yrs., and this collection just seems to accumulate on it's own....
There's also some vintage tin boxes in here, pipes, all kinds of wierd crap...
Folks relly enjoy looking at this old stuff when they are waiting in my office...
    I'll post more....

I have sold off many of my unbuilt kits last year, but I have a huge collection of Tom Daniel model kits. I had all but about 4 items for a complete collection before I started selling them off....I've been friends with Tom for about 20 years, so many of my things have been autographed!

I also have a good collection of early car magazines, most of which feature famous showrods, which are my passion. I also like bottle openers, Frankenstein stuff, decals and patches, and Moon items!

One of the things that I buy at auctions and flea markets for my Antique business are Pocket Watches. I usuall have a nice selection of Illinois, Elgin, Waltham, etc..........Kind of low in stock of them right now so I have to start looking for some more. VERY easy to sell even if they are broken.

  30. Oh man! Finktim, Tom Daniels is like Roth!! I LOVE his stuff! You are a lucky man to be friends with a true legend of the scale model world. Please shake his hand and say 'G'day' for me!!
    Doc.

PS, any chance of getting his autograph?!!
