Yeah, this one is $329 for 20-minutes, aerobatics and a little stick time from the front seat. Pretty expensive, but I would love to do it...

... not sure if my bank account would like to do it though.

Man, I'd go for it and not look back...how many times you gonna get a chance to go? :) Especially if you can swing the P-51 ride....there's like only 125 of those left flying in the world...not something everyone gets to do!

  6. I would do it in a heartbeat. There is also another group called North American Top Gun or something like that which flies WWII T6's. They were about 50 miles from here a couple years ago and I didn't go...I'm still kicking myself for that. If they are ever close by again I will go....and spend the dough!

  7. A friend got to fly the "Aluminum Overcast" B-17 a few years ago here in Peoria. Cost $500....says it was the best money he ever spent. Go for it.

O/T: The same guy built a flying RC B-17 a few years back. 10'+ wingspan...operating bomb bay...turrets....nothing like flying that near the town. :)

My grandpa is a retired airplane mechanic. I gave him an hour of flight time for christmas several years ago. He still talks about it almost every time I see him. You can also get a video package where they record your adventure. I say go for it.

Absolute bargain at that price, and years from now as these things get high time on things like main spars etc, you won't be able to do it at all.

    Still waiting for a ride in a two-place P40, TP40N I think. They had
a Flying Tigers reunion here a couple years ago and he took
Tex Hill up for some stick time. Too cool just to be able to sit in the same seat... My place got "rained on" with T6 cowling pieces years
ago when a cowling came loose and the prop went all ginsu on it.

I'm going up with them in May at Chester County airport in Pa. I'm heading for the Bi-plane as I've been in one before( Rhinebeck NY ) and really enjoyed it. Even if I wasn't flying I'd be over there listening to them and watching them come and go. Just like with cars, the sound is a huge part of it. Some things in life just put that big involuntary grin on you and this is one of them for me. :D

If you can swing the cash-do it!. The cost to own one of these things is unreal. Radial engines **** down alot of gas and oil. Not to mention the insurance, anual inspections, etc... Not that this will make anyone feel better, but when I was in filght training, I somehow managed to bum a ride on a T-6. For Free! Loops, rolls, the works. Johnny wouldn't take a dime from me. Had a **** eating grin all day. You'll have one too.
