O/T:Arrested for 147 MPH-Is your rod safe?

    My whole point was this:

    Have you built your car to be safe? Have you checked it since you put it on the road. I could give a ---- about the new cars. I just don't want some of the people here to get hurt because they didn't do something right or rechecked their assembly. In the last minute thrash to get that sweet project on the road, you get tired and forget things. Vibration loosens things.

    I like the old style cars and trucks. I don't like the new stuff Ford and the rest are putting out. That's why I'm building a 48 F1. That said, I'm building and assembling it to be safe. I like my body and my wife in ONE piece.

    Now, there is a follow-up thread on this one because there ARE questions about the car's capabilities to go 147 mph.
     
  2. IN spirit of this thread, I pushed the green truck pretty hard on my way to work this morning. My neighbor in his new blue Viper was keeping up with me pretty well. No wierd shakes, rattles or vibrations, pretty uneventfull I would have to say.

    Yes, my W rated tires were rated "safe" at those speeds.
