Not hotrod related, but auto related decor anyway. Here's some pics of my Nascar basement. The end table is made of (2) race-used Mark Martin wheels & tires with glass on top. The TV is shrouded by a Mark Martin rear bumper & the other pic shows my fuel dump can and the Matt Kenseth decklid on the wall (actually it's suspended by aircraft cable from the ceiling joists).

Funny I have all Ford parts and I'm a Chevy guy.

  2. This guy has a cool website, he makes some hotrod related home decor. You could get some good idea's if you were looking to make some stuff yourself.

Here is the TP holder I made from parts and also a Towel Bar in our small guest bathroom. Also made the vent cover, louvered and striped.

The whole idea behind this room was to try to make it look like a 50's gas station bathroom.

That didn't work as we couldn't bring ourselves to keep it that dirty.

The shower is a phone booth.

  6. Hey fellas, there is no way that I'm as creative as some of these artists on this thread or message board(ie...Jakeschopshop), but I love my $450 ashtray. Is made out of 2 endplates from a Hewland NMT200 racecar transmission. Snagged these from a raceteam I used to work with.
Have always thought the couches made from car parts are super cool, especially if taillights are wires for 110v.

Display cabinet was found while travelling backroads of central Florida, got it for $10 bucks. Had to take it apart to get it up the stairs of my apartment. Have always wanted a place to keep my trinkets dustfree and out in public view.:)

Here's a simple table top piece that I made from a 1941 Plymouth hood ornament and a scrap piece of strap metal. Was easy to do and gets a lot of comments. Stu

Here's some stuff from a friends house. I did most of the paintwork for him.

hey...me too! in my old apartment there was a 4" ledge around 2 sides of the living room about waist high. it was FILLED with hotweels! well as long as the damn cats decided to leave them alone. found a few under the couch i didn't know i was missing when i moved. :p

bob k...funny you should post those camshaft pieces, i was just looking at the cam i pulled outta my olds a few months ago and trying to figure out how to use it for decor.

cyclopsblown34...how'd you drill the hole through the center of that cam for the lamp cord?

  16. Here is another photo of that style of coffee table that was all over the web.

this is a hamber's; but i can't remember who. someone should speak up so credit can go where credit is due. i saved this pic when it was first posted by the person who built it. it's one of my favorite automotive related pieces.

  18. After I posted the pictures of my table earlier this year on a different forum, I received an email with the pic of that table. I thought that was way cooler than mine. I am assuming it is an aluminum block.

  19. I had a local machine shop drill it.
