They are building a new bridge downtown.Tuesday morning something went haywire. The operator is ok.Half the town was there at lunch to take a look and a few pictures. It's going to take just a little longer than expected to finnish the bridge.

Cranes that collapse from overloading or driver error make a big mess. When I was in college - SIU, Carbondale, IL, way back in the early 70's - one collapsed during cl*** break... it killed two students outright, lots of others hurt. Hope everyone here was ok. Gary

our tax dollars at work. I am glad that no one was hurt. That machine is about a million dollars of junk sitting there though they may fix it. Looking around the town,it doesn't look like the frozen north to me,new hotel, ect.
Many old cars and trucks sitting around up there? Kinda expensive to get parts to repair so I am wondering if in the past they just parked them and went on to the next one.

How did you know THAT!? There was an acetylene tank under the crane.the whole of downtown was blocked off at 6:00P.M. when I went down to see how far they had gotten.it was still in the water and the guys in the safetyu green and orange vests were doing their best to make sure it took as long as it could to get the job done. The police arrested one guy for getting too close.I went home.
