    Good work, Spiffy.

We had rain overnight. All the urgent threat warnings have been down graded. Respite at last. The weekend will heat up again and fires are still burning but the worst seems to be over.

Awfully big recovery project getting underway though...and a royal commission. Last Saturday will go down as one of the most significant days in Australian history. I'm sure we will also see significant changes in our emergency services and support agencies as we did post '39 and '83.

  2. My boss ha just begun the process of getting things sorted to form a group of volunteer land surveyors to go in and establish some control from whatever is left to help in the rebuilding process when it all begins. Its going to be a mammoth task as the amount of land and services devasted/destroyed is just phenomonal....

To all the firies, volunteer firies and all the other emergency services I'd like to thank you for your effort. Its greatly appreciated.

Ive just come back from being at my house site last night...I slept in the car and the full moon made everything clear and blue...I walked around the area and put out fences /logs that were flaring up during the night, with a bucket........It is very sad.....I thought Id look for an old cast firebell that was hanging in my lounge room and found the inner cup only....We emptied my shed and nothing survived...We have our lives and Im grateful for that.....thanks for your support guys....My heart goes out to the loved ones lost.....Bert

    TINA WILSON

    BORN 13-04-1972 Whakatane, New Zealand
    TAKEN 07-02-2009 Kinglake Victoria

On Wednesday 11th February at the Northern Suburbs Street Rod Club rooms, 140 people celebrated the life of Tina Wilson and her children, Crystal 15, Nathan 13, and Teagan 6.

People from every facet of her life expressed their grief and told of why she was so loved liked and respected by all who knew her.

Tina had been a member for 5 years and in that short time had achieved the respect and recognition to be awarded Best Club Member 2007.

She requested the position of sponsorship Co-ordinator for the Bright Rod Run and in doing so was able to achieve good contact and rapport with sponsors and was also responsible for arranging other club runs &events throughout the year.

She had already passed on this year's calendar of events to be distributed at the next club meeting.

Being a woman and mum with a young and loving family, she certainly was a rarity in a strong male dominated environment, she was a hands on, in and under, Hot Rodder.

She was building her own '34 Ford Coupe with a B/B Ford, Auto, 9" combo.
It had progressed to the stage of needing professional help with paint and upholstery. Her “can do” approach to life and all challenges was the essence of Tina.

Sam and Tina attended many rock and roll dances on the northern side of town and was always one of the first up dancing with either Sam or her children to the rock and roll at all the rod runs they attended.

The Northern Suburbs Street Rod Club would like to extend an invitation to all Rodders to attend the Memorial Day, at Horseshoe Bend, Keilor, on 1st March, to celebrate Tina's life

As soon as practical the N.S.S.R. club will be organizing an event to assist Sam and his family as well as others affected from this horrific event.

I hope they shoot the sob in the balls first. At least there.might be a chance of justice, if it happened here, the laws would say screw the victims and protect the criminal. even if they were caught in the process. I do have to agree with the roasting part though, this might be a good time to bring back burning at the stake. I just tried to read through this thread again, and it just kills me, anyone who doubts evil walks this earth, the people starting these fires for their kicks, proves it.

As i sit here reading these messages in kilsyth - 40 kms east of melbourne nearly 1 week on after the tragedy in Kinglake , there are fires burning in olinda and just beyond Healesville . i would like to express my condolances to those who have lost Family and Property as a result of what happened last saturday. I have a friend who lives in fern rd kinglage & the fire missed him by 2 Streets. Am very sorry to hear about Wally Martins Collection as He opened the doors of His museum about 15 months or so ago to some members of the Melbourne Hot Rod Club & Other Enthusiasts. I took some photo's of His cars with my mobile ph as i didn't have my Camera. I wouldn't mind posting a few of these photo's later on if that's O.K.

  10. Post away Steve.

The smoke over Olinda woke me at around 3:00am. There was no fire just somebody spooked as the smoke came across from Healseville and rang 000.

We're still pretty nervous up here on our little piece of paradise, especially considering there's a couple of mongrell oxygen thieves running around the outer suburbs setting fires.

God help anybody any local catches trying to put a match to anything around here.

I've just heard, but not confirmed the loss of another life long and well known hot rodder.

This afternnon He has faced court for commital hearing but the judge has ordered he undergo phsychiatric evalution . Lets hope he is a real suspect and not a scape goat. Something police down here are famous for. His identity and location have been supressed and he is being held with the other rock spiders in a secure prison away from general population until the trick cyclist sees him . It's only one fire he has been charged with .

this would be bad enough if it was all natrual caused, but the fact that someone is setting these just makes me physically ill.

  18. Damn glad it wasnt a fire in Olinda, it would have been all over red rover for the dandenongs if it were true!
Who was it that passed? Another hot rod brother gone, my condolances to the family.
    Doc.

  19. Got a call Sunday night that somebody had lit one up on the Belgrave- Ferny Creek road.

One side of this road is heavy forrest with no homes, the other side is all bushland housing. The fire was set in the housing area, so it's pretty clear what the lowlife's objective was.

They got him. 39 years old, broken up with his girlfriend (12 months ago) and had a chip on his shoulder. They've hed to move him out of the area for 'his own safety' as the locals would lynch him if they got half a chance.

He's been charged with arson causing death, (21 deaths) deliberately causing a fire, and child porn possession, so they'll nail him on one of them at least! They should drag him back into the ruins by the balls and make him clean out a car full of people he's killed.

Thanks for caring all you Yankees too.

    Glen.

Bloody fires have erupted around us again - several areas are under threat - hopefully they will be contained very soon.
