After seeing the promos about ''Worlds Fastest Indian'' I thought about all of the crazy people that would make a great movie. I don't know about you guy's but the one that I keep dreaming of but probably will never see is "Jungle Jim ". That guy did it all ! Hollywierd would never have the balls to make it right. They would probably dub over the screaming fuel motors with some stupid ricer motor noise. How about you guys, who would yours be about? Pool

a lumped up De Niro plays Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, Christopher Walken plays "Von Dutch".....building and striping in the late 50's and early 60's in L.A. with a "Brokeback Mountain" vibe and S&M overtones!

I think Mickey Thompson would have to top my list....you wanna talk about a guy that did it all.

Unfortunately there would be no happy ending.

A film on all aspects of Ed Roth's many lives.....
Von Dutch would feature prominently, and would be played by George Carlin.....or Don Rickles...

Eddie Hill or Tommy Ivo, among many, would make great documentary subjects.....

given the trend in hollywood to make two movies of the same or similar stories/genre, id expect to see a movie about rollie free out soon.

T.V. Tommy Ivo. nobody that nice deserves to go to his grave without a movie made, or a medallion given out at mass.

    Ak Miller for sure.
    Jocko Johnson
    Willy Borscht
    Fireball Roberts
    Curtis Turner
    Joe Weatherley
    Max Balchowsky

I'd also ike to see a documentary made on sports car racing from 1950-1960 before the information gap closes forever.

Linda Vaughn and Jungle Jane in a movie would be a Blockbuster but there isn't any current beautys in holywood that could play those two. Special effects just wouldn't be the same!

Hmmmm, let's see now.... I think these guys would make for some pretty interesting film footage. In no particular order:

    Bob Petersen,
    Wally Parks,
    the Summers brothers,
    Don Garlits,
    the Duesenberg brothers,
    E. L. Cord,
    Von Dutch (of course),
    Ed Roth,
    J. C. Agajanian,
    Big John Mazmanian,
    Zora-Arkus Duntov,
    A. J. Foyt,
Linda Vaughn (simply the best spokes-person for racing-EVER),
    Shirley (the "Dragon-Lady") Shahon,
    Harry Armenius Miller,
    Fred Offenhauser,
    the Chevrolet brothers,
    Smokey Yunick...
and the list could go on, but that's enoughfor now.

We'll be at the local opening on "The World's Fastest Indian" Friday, a movie that took the time to get all the period correct vehicles. That is what makes or brakes a historical auto movie in my opinion. With that in mind a Don Garlits, Ed Roth, or Micky Tompson movie could be made. If you remove that Buick station wagon from Tommy Ivo's 4 engined Buick rail I'd go to see that movie too.:)

  25. jeez, atleast Smokey Yunick finally made the list...

but i would go with Barney Oldfield, this guy defined an entire era and maybe an entire generation. His life was made for the screen!

  26. Add Chet Herbert to the list.
    Swede Savage.
    Jimmy Shampine.

    Harry Miller
All the pioneer dry lakes racers
    Ed Isky
    Zora Arkus Duntov
    Big Daddy Roth and Garlits
    Henry Ford
    Enzo Ferrari

Just off the top of my head.
