  1. I assemble restored cars for the owner of http://www.chevsofthe40s.com/. Just finished a pair of 1931 Chrysler Imperials that I've been on for a year. One is a limo and the other is a dual cowl Phaeton.

Heavy equipment/diesel mechanic for 15 years. Currently employed as a lead facility maint./repair technician for the past 13 years. I work on CNC lasers, pressbrakes, milling machines and punches. As well as a slew of other machinery. I have my own small machine shop at work, and get to use all of the equipment including our powdercoat line for my personal stuff & I live 3 miles away...... Definately my best job yet!

Police officer, on the job for 24 years, not too many more to go. Don't know what I will do after that. I would love to have my own shop doing something.

I was a diesel technician for 9 years, worked for Peterbilt and Caterpillar on class 8 trucks. When the economy started going south, I started back to school and am currently a senior working on a Mechanical Engineering major with emphasis on Aerospace Engineering at the University of South Carolina. I do a lot of consulting work on the side, and work on any interesting projects that my friends and family can come up with.

That was my post nearly 8 years ago, #260 on the first day of the thread!

Not much has changed. Still retired, still idle. I've been a volunteer docent at the Petersen Automotive Museum for about 3 years.

Last year I bought a company that sells body clips, hardware and whatnot. I go around to repair shops, body shops, car dealerships and stock their bolt and clip bins. Being the first year owning it I was too busy to even touch anything of my own, but I get to see a lot of cool stuff in shops.

Wow, here's an old thread. My original post 7 years ago, I reconned, and hung pistons assembled motors for an engine rebuilder. Now I TIG and MIG weld Aluminum all day at a facility that makes the equipment for pouring aluminum ingots and billets. From 3" rounds, to 4'X6' blocks. Pretty interesting stuff at: www.wagstaff.com if your interested??? Eventually hope to take my aluminum fab abilities and find a job in So Cal welding/fabbing aluminum stuff.
