I haven't read the whole thread so I may have missed some later replies but I wonder what the people who worked for/on Pontiacs are doing now?
As for me I am a retired fire captain with 30 years service. I retired in 2005 and went to work as a trim carpenter for a custom home builder. That lasted until the bottom fell out of the construction industry in 2009.
I thought about retiring completely but got bored sitting around the house so I went to work part time at a national auto parts store. After two months I went full time but only work 30-35 hours a week as the stores inventory management specialist. It doesn't pay much but the work is hard! The one good thing about the job is the discount on parts.

OK, I'll admit it, was in the publishing business for about 25 years, retired, got bored, became a yacht broker, got bored, started building on my Avatar, and my old wooden boat.....not bored any more!

I own a construction equipment repair company and look like this everyday. Hard damn work, but I smile my ass off all day long. I will NEVER go back to working for some other bozo.

I love my job, but it doesn't come close to being home with family and tinkering in the shop.[IMG]
