O/T Custom guitars

I'm trying to get cool ideas for my guitar, I want to metal flake it and maybe pinstripe. But I am trying to get an idea of what to do..I'm bastardizing my guitar before my car

 

I've seen a Strat copy with an engine turned aluminium pickguard that looks good.

 

Next time BR5-49 plays near you go ask the bassist "Buckshot" to show you pics of his bass that got stolen... flake green with pinstriped flames, it was beautiful.

 

well, I'll show you what I did to mine. I'm going to do a polar opposite (chrome tele body, black hardware) except with a bigsby tremolo. I'll have to custom make that one myself.

Here's a Strat I did. Something different. I just did it with a rattle can. The purple is actually photoshopped, never got around to having it done. I sold it to buy the Tele.

Satin Black w/ Red and Black Stripes?

 

I don't even mess with paint, it deadens the sound if it's too thick.
My old Hamer prototype is laquered and I might strip that and just oil it.
don't look much but it's driven by a set of two Bartolini buckers and a very hot bartolini single coil, running through a griblin super multi tone and griblin pre-amp.
The guitar has no volume control to reduce losses.
My tech reckons it has the highest output of anything he's built.
Thought you guys was into hot rods?!
Leave the paint off on this one.

 

And for something completely different... there's a guy next door to my buddy's shop that takes brand-new Strats and "ages" them. Shoots 'em in lacquer, then uses a secret mysto-process to crack and yellow the paint. He adds dings, scratches, flaking, etc and I swear they look 40 years old. He's supposedly done work for a number of name-brand musicians.

just thought I'd post some pics of some axes I've hit over the years...the first is a bass I painted for my tattoo artist, and the second is for the lead player in Bowling For Soup, (the big guy) still uses that old thing to this day! The paints a little worn, but it was a fun job and my one little claim to fame (sort-of.)

man i'm lovin this H.A.M.B joint more and more,Wicked cars,and now guitars I have a 78 Strat with a Kaylor lockdown tremelo and Seymore Duncan pickups its black witha black pickguard and some iron cross stickers put on fer shits N giggles.you guys with your custom axes rule man those are some bitchin guitars and i love that pinstriped upright Bass.
