I just realized that there's a **** load of FNGs so I'm gonna do a quick bio for ya. I've been on the HAMB since about late 98, and made sushi (and tried to get Ryan to eat some) at the 2005 HAMB Drags. I returned to the Army after a 15yr break in service. I would have finished my 20th year this year had I stayed in. I'm a 39yr spe******t, older than my First Sargent by 2 years. I've been around the block once or twice. while there might not be any IEDs inside the wire, we dig up old Ordanace and get mortored more than often enough.

I'm hoping to be home for the drags but not counting on it.

    Daily life picts

Thanks for all the support. It means tons to us.

  21. :) May God be with you Zeke.
 I spent 23 1/2 years in the army (2IN, 3ACR, 1AD, 1CAV and others). I was in Desert Storm, Somalia, Bosnia and other real ****ty places. I have to say I loved every mintue of it :D ....am I crazy or what  ? I am currently re-creating my old AA/F coupe and having a ball. Good luck man and hang in there, Ya'll are doing great work.

  22. Zeke,

39? The average soldier's age is around 21, 22? They must think of you as some sort of relic or curiosity, ancient and mysterious posessing a reservoir of arcane knowledge. I hope you are at least taking some satisfaction from blowing their minds from time to time
When you say spe******t do you mean heavy weapons like that M-2 or something else?
Thanks for the pics and send more if you want.

Is there anything we can send you? I mean anything that won't start some sort of investigation by the Army postal inspectors.

Setting aside the political battle here in the States (and it is heating up) I can tell you that average Americans do not want to see their sons and daughters killed or maimed and we want them home safe ASAP.

Yeah I'm a relic thats for sure. I remember the days of M60A3 tanks .45s M3 grease guns and being allowed to drink on duty. Well at lunch at least. And yeah I do tend to blow folks minds around here. Mostly the officers and Senior NCOs. I get tons of respect from the kid here. I'm old school and tend to say what's on my mind. I'm one a few people who get away with **** I shouldn't. Which may not be a good thing. As for the Spe******t thing that's my current rank. I should be seeing sargent stripes in a couple months.

I totally understand the political aspect that not everyone agrees with us being here or supports us and that's fine. I don't care if you support me or not. We do what we do so folks can disagree. That being said, I will kill the first Mother****er I see with a Thank God For IEDs sign.

Regardless here are a few more picts of my life here.

Zeke, I hope your shower hut is closer to your hooch than mine was when I was over there.....lol. Man, I'd walk from my hooch to the showers, hose off and on the way back to the hooch get covered in that fine sand/dirt in the breeze basically making my shower pointless...lol. I found it weird being over there, at night sometimes it kind of felt like I was back in time 2000 years or something being northeast of the valley of the kings and all. Watch your top knot Zeke- I'll talk on your behalf to the man upstairs. God be with all of you!

Improvised Explosive Device--"home made" bomb, apparently in Iraq most of them are command-detonated and made from other military components (artillery shells, etc.), usually disguised as something innocuous. The Soviets in the Afghan used to make them look like toys, IIRC. Cowards' weapons.

Zeke--when are they planning on getting the humvees flamed and pinstriped? :D
Photoshop HAMBers--let's see what customs we can create for the Army!

    Stay safe,

    Tucker
