Isn't it strange how petroleum producers are tied to scrappage programs?

In Canada there's a program Car Heaven (Developed by the Clean Air Foundation, they attempt to reduce smog formation by assisting in taking older, higher-polluting vehicles off the road) and one of the iniative's partners is Imperial Oil. WTF?

I've noticed Chevron and BP (Say, Hey!) are tied to similar scrappage programs in the US.

It's so they can buy up the carbon credits, and thus pollute more. Don't be fooled by thier self-indulging "green" stance. It's only so they can look like they're doing something to clean up the earth.

You gotta keep an eye on these "Clean Air Foundations". They start lobbying government about older vehicles and the next thing you know, our rods get legislated off the road for not being green enough.
