I've got a couple of 22's but my baby is a Springfield M1 Garand (Korean era). The M1 has a beauty of its own, tough and funtional. It really gives you an appreciation for what our forefathers had to endure in WWII and Korea. The rifle and the 30-06 ammo is heavy- compared to modern military rifles like the M16/.223, I couldn't imagine lugging this rifle around all day. For all of you veterans out there.... thank you.

you prob weren't in texas. those kind of deals are hit and miss, they can happen anywhere at anytime. a friend of mine picked up a beretta 92f off a guy he knew for 100.00 cause the guy didn't like the gun after he took it shooting twice

I'm down for a hamb day at the range. Well burro canyon allows rapid fire :) as long it's controled rapid fire so I think that would be a good place to go. Hey sandimasguy I got my mini 14 with a scope and a tri-pod set up on it which I got off my friend for dirt cheap:D

i need to get more 22s, i like shooting them and they are not very expensive to take to the range unlike most other guns.

i'd like to add a M1 to my collection. i hear they are pretty accurate but i've never got to shoot one.

I believe it did. My version was less glamorous, and I didn't hit her after she handed it over. I actually thanked her. Chicks get a little "emotional" from time to time.

After this incident I took all of my guns & knives to a neighbors for safe keeping until I got rid of her crazy ***.

I also have a buddy whose depressed girlfriend blew her brains out right in front of him with his pistol. He's still screwed up over that one.

Between these incidents, and the one where I was arrested for carrying a concealed firearm while out running repo accounts in the projects, I have learned that guns will get you INTO more trouble than they'll ever get you OUT of. They're a HUGE responsibility.

I remember the old surplus chinese SKS going for $65 at the Fort Smith gun show, lol...bought a couple back then, if I had known they were gonna get up to 200 or more, I'd have kept the damned things.

Most of the guns I have now are old west type stuff...

    1894 winchester in .30/30
colt SAA 5 1/2" bbl in .45 colt
Meteor double bbl 12ga, mule eared *******
an old .32 derringer that most of the nickel is worn off...kinda spooky shootin that thing
    several old single shot .22's
.50 underhammer muzzleloader with a wierd red tint to it
remington nylon 66 .22 semiauto (early model, no serial #)
    mossberg bolt action 16 guage
and my favorite at the moment? a little tiny chimpmunk .22 rifle I bought for my son when he was 4 years old...he was able to out shoot my best friend at 5 years...was good for laughs when the guy started braggin bout his marksmanship :p

I've had many over the years, mostly hunting, 12 gauges and 30.06s.

None currently, I gave them to my son so he could hunt with my dad.

But a S&W model 4013 pistol was my favorite.

It's a new world out there with all this talk of gun safes and locks and not in the home because of kids, etc. When I was a kid we were expected to know where the guns were, how and when to use or not use them and why you didn't play with them. Same with everyone else's kids that came thru the house. But then there was more trust and common sense in the average 10 year old than in today's protected society college grads. We didn't beat each other's heads in with hammers, we didn't poke each other's eyes out with screwdrivers and we didn't shoot each other with guns. They were just another tool in the house. Nothing special.

Oh yeah, gotta have a few guns, just keep 'em locked and the ammo stored ina separate, locked area. ('cept the one within arms length of the bedside.) I have a Tauras .357 7 shot revolver, an oddball; a 12ga. pump, 410 single shot (for the kids) a .35 Marlin lever, a 300 Savage lever, and a nail driving .22 Mag. Love to deer hunt!:D

  16. I got a Red Ryder BB gun.

It just kills empty beer cans.
Knocks a hole in the side with no problems.

Long range stuff too, clear across the back yard as a matter of fact....

Smokin Joe, Glad you posted your thoughts. That's EXACTLY how I was raised and there was NEVER an incident where I grew up. We were taught responsibility along with how to handle a firearm. In my family alone there were probably 50 firearms that were readily accessable to anyone who NEEDED them. At a very young age the squirrel, woodchuck and rabbit population was kept in check by the males in our family and by their teenage years most of the girls had already bagged a deer. It's a different time now, SADLY and this country is headed where ALL of the great nations on earth have gone before us. Don't believe it? Time to dust off the history books, and read them without the liberal blinders on like our schools are training our young people today.
I have some hand guns and long guns (this is not the place to list them you never know who is lurking and why). The wife and I shoot every week. She had never held a handgun before Michigan p***ed our "right to carry" law. Now she outshoots me EVERY week. I thought it a good idea for her to know how to handle a firearm and have one at her disposal as she travels to the Detroit and Grand Rapids area alone at night occasionally. She now agrees and really enjoys shooting.

Uhhh... 20 M1 Garands, 5 M1 Carbines, about 10 1903 Springfields, a round a dozen 1911's. and 40 odd "project" weapons. and some other stuff. The problem is they cost less than cars and take up less space, thereby allowing you to have MANY projects running at the same time

Does an M1 Garand & M1921 Thompson PFC Gas Blowback count? I collect them for reenactment.

The real deal, Russian SKS & Sig P226 were "confi****ed" by an FBI friend of mine, said he was "looking after me". Some friend.

I've been blessed to grow up with them and to have been taught how much respect they deserve. I've made a lot of good friends thru the love of firearms, and got to shoot more stuff than I can ever remember. I do remember when I got to shoot a Barrett 50 that it took a week to get the wood to go down.:D Here's my tat that I love showing off to liberals when they start talking about how "evil" guns are.
