All.. has anyone seen this before? I can't tell if it's a scam or not. I kinda get a bad feeling about it, but his email checks out. He emailed me twice already about it.. But the fact that he works for Halliburton.. I don't know, seems strange to me. Take glance, let me know.. I erased parts of his number to protect him in case it really is the real deal. I haven't called him as I don't really know what to say, but I digress.. here is the email. I am considering placing a bid by proxy for your jeep. I will be returning to the US from the Middle East at the time the auction ends. I arrive in Houston Tx. on Friday afternoon. My problem will be getting you the deposit within the 24 hour time frame you have set as the auction will end while I am still traveling. If I am the winning bidder I will plan to pick up the jeep on about Nov. 10 and pay the purchase price in cash less the deposit. I can call or email to discuss this in greater detail if you are interested in having me bid given the circumstance I have described. Please inform me either way as I am also interested in other jeeps although yours is at the top of my list. Sounds legit to me. he left all his contact info and a halliburton email... Call the guy and get it all situated. Usually the scams are from oversea people wanting to pay WAY over the asking price in the form of a cashiers check. I must have had 50 emails from people overseas wanting to pay big bucks for my Model A. I eventually put it on eBay and sold it to a guy in Japan. His friend in California wired me $1,000 US Bank transfer. And drove from Cali to south texas 2 weeks later and paid the balance in cash.
BTW, since he works for Halliburton (Large Oil Field Corp) I'd bet he's not gonna back out. People in the oil field that go overseas for work make big bucks...trust me...I'm considering going to Venezuela for 2 yrs to make fat cash in the oilfield instrumentation field.

[/ QUOTE ] Halliburton is one of the largest goverment contractors. My dad has been talking to them about going overseas to work for short stints also. I would say communicate and tell the guy you are a little spooked. See if he can offer up some info. I would guess it is legit.
Yeah that's what I did, and I sent him a buttload of pics, so hopefully I'll hear back. He was a little bent when I told him his email sounded a little like a scam, but hey.. gotta protect myself first.
