Here's a pic of mine in progress. It's a 14" rear off a Honda cr80. I found a street tire on ebay for $3 for it. The front is just a 72 spoke 20" from a lowrider site.

How mini are we talking? Have you concidered a cushman tire, they might be cool They are not too square-ish like the go-cart tires or the tractor tires. Unless thats still too little an fat looking. Maybe you could use a moped tire. they have spokes and aren't too tall. Plus they should be laying around just about everywhere for next to nothing prices.

These are some sites you could look at, some are a little too high-tech, gold chain, billet, but have parts that you might want.

No prob. I am a man of research myself. I don't even have a mini bike yet, just been looking at the different ones out there to see what I want. I still can't make up my mind. I have a bunch of other "stock" mower powered web-links too, but the last one on the list I gave you is probably good enough for that kind of a build. I am too picky. I want mine to be like a mini chopper, but I don't want it to look to much like a real bike ya know? The Lobos site has almost got it, but they are a little too big (plus I don't dig the tanks). There must be a fine line in there somewhere.

I used a 18.5 tall x 8 wide x 10 diam tire and wheel on my mini-bike, I think it was originally intended as a golf cart tire and wheel. When I built the mini with LeSabre59 (we built 2 at same time) we just imagineered up the rear axle set-up to work with the wheel and sprockets by making flanges on the axle tube. We used some flanges and bearings that we found for a go-kart I think? Here is a picture of my mini from the HAMB drags in Mo-Kan, thanks to Jim Marlett. On my way to a sizzling 29 sec p*** at 38 mph....... [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

I'd love to do some mini-bike/mini-chopper grudge racing at the strip next year! I wonderwhat my Blue ***** would turn in the quarter? With no brakes on it, and the restrictions of riding it in a local city neighborhood, I haven't had the chance to open 'er up all the way yet! It should have a new carb this week and be running once more...it was fast before...but I know it has MORE in it! [IMG]

So...whaddaya say? To early to issue a mini-bike drag challenge for NEXT year's HAMB Drags? Open to any gas-powered Mini-bike, bicycle or moped ya care to screw together?

(Maybe should be rules...so some joker doesn't show up with a KZ1000 engine on a tricycle or something! [IMG])

The Blue ***** was built as a test mule to evaluate my rear-engine design and to see if there was a market for such death tra...err...BIKES...locally! But...she'll make a fair digger...with her vintage 1954 Te***seh "flathead" power! [IMG]

  19. 38Chevy454 gave me a front wheel off a mo-ped (Ithink) and it is a 16"er with a small tire... I've been hunting around for a rear that is in the neighborhood of 12" and found one on a Honda 70 dirt bike... you can buy road tires for them too and they have the sproket and brake built in... and are not real wide...

BTW, 38Chevy454's mini bike is a freakin' blast to drive... that's why I'm-a-gonna build one. [IMG]

jesus built my mini chopper. any of you losers think you got the nads to go toe to toe, come up to canada, lose the front wheel, put a ski on it, and race from ulquatos's igloo to the "frozen ****ers" clubhouse. if ya beat me, i buy all the picked seal noses you can eat, and all the kokannee you can drink. ( hasn't happened yet), most of you southerners get lost in a snow bank and we find you bout this time during the thaw

[/ QUOTE ]Not that anyone here would get carried away building something crazy.BUT... How about this:
    single cylinder production engines only,4 stroke,air cooled,gas only,NO nitrous,NO blowers,NO turbos,must be equipped with a pull starter,any clutch/torque converter,NO transmissions. [IMG]
Does the track have lights for 1/8 mile events?
