O/T: Mopar Guys; what should I grab from '72 4dr Satellite?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Brad54, Jan 16, 2009.

  1. Sure, it's OT...
    BUT...
Perhaps some of these parts will find their way onto HAMB-approved vehicles. I know I used plenty of 70s 318s in rods.

  2. way to bump this thread to the top 6 times. douche ;)

The ***le said off topic, so I didn't bother looking at this one, but someone kept bumping it to the top, so I thought maybe there was something good in here.....

    Guess not.

well i may as wel get my (new *****s) balls busted too for keeping this thread going , keep the 8 3/4 and the trans and motor , all good pieces . im using a 727 and an 8 3/4 in my 29 2dr sdn . that rear is as good as any out there , stands up to plenty of thrashing , same internals in the small block 727 as in the big block case (also used in the 29) i paid dearly for the 8 3/4 also , sorry about keeping this going from an "old" newbie p---- but also a hot rodder and someone with a lot of muscle car in my blood.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll see what I can get off it this week. The rear end is the small 8 1/4... I love the 8 3/4 rears, and have one in my g***er, and will put one in the Carrera Buick, so I was disappointed there.
Paper Dog--shoot me a PM, and I'll take some pics and send them to you to see what you're looking for.

I don't need the engine, but I'm going to try and get the AC and all the accessory brackets. I didn't look under the nose, but there was a prop valve/distribution block under the hood, so I'm guessing it's possible there are discs up there. I'd be shocked if it had a small block 727... I'll decode the fender tag and find out for sure.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I'd have never thought about the hood release cable.

They did make some 8.25 Sure-Grip units. But, I doubt this one is one. Also, the 8.25 is fairly light duty. But, it is still better than a 7.25. You might want to at least make a cursory check and see if its a Sure-Grip or not.
