If you've ridden a bike in various weather, occasionally you or a friend may snap a throttle cable... which sucks! It's happened to me and I thought how the hell was I going to get the bike home. Most bikes have 2 throttle cables (an opener and a closer). The times I've seen throttle cables break it is usually the opener. At the carb disconnect the fitting from the broken opening cable. In it's place at the carb, connect the closing throttle cable. You will now be able to ride home, but your throttle grip will actually work in reverse. Instead of pulling back on the throttle you will now push fwd. It's enough to get you home! I hope this helps someone out there... cause it has helped me!
to add to your post if you have a single cable alot of times you can hit a spotring goods store or wallmart and get a bycycle brake cable alot of times i just buy them for my builds they have many other uses too
