Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. We are going nuts not knowing what happened to her... but thankful that she is still alive and coming home!

I know I've made this statement/request in the past.. but will make it again.... This isn't a political thiing, or a religious thing.... No matter your religion, your political opinion, your thoughts of war or the situations abroad... please pray to your higher power, whoever it may be, that we bring home all those men and women, safely, soon.

If you have someone serving, please send me a PM and let's chat.
I'm a supporter of Operation S.A.M. (Supporting All Military) and would like to pass along the contact details so they can receive a little extra support while they are away from home.

    Thank you all, again.

Well, at least she is coming home alive, thank God. My nephew just deployed to Iraq, Charlie Co., 1st.BN 6MAR, they were last in Fallujah. I don't know for sure if that is where he will be sent ultimately.

As father of a 19-year-old I almost lost it the day I read that and couldn't do anything but imagine getting that call from one of my own. Bravery isn't doing the right thing because you aren't afraid. Bravery is doing the right thing even though you ARE afraid. My hope is that all of the brave souls in harms way be able to say they did their job and come home soon.

  5. Best wishes to her for a speedy recovery.

Was just on Nellis/Indian Springs AF base here in Vegas this morning and saw a lot of busy troops! Thought of your Niece and what she must be going through. Everything will work out rad, I'm sure of it; and once again, best wishes and prayers from here in Vegas!! Keep the head up and smile for her. I'm sure she'd want to know the thoughts are positive ones! Brave she is! I'm sure she'll be happy to be home...

    Dave and Ginger,

I'm glad to hear she can call and did call. I hope you hear soon what her condition is. We will pray for her and her fellow soliders. My Bro-in-law signed for Reserve duty - leaves in January for boot. Maybe this will be far enough removed that he doesn't go to Iraq. Good luck and let us know what you do find out.

Speedy recovery to your niece. Looks like in the pic that she's the gunner - I love it! Hopefully she'll be just fine.

Mrs 32, I learned a long time ago that spirituality can not be bound by politics or religion; it is all about extending care and support to those who are in need and extending that care in what ever form is appropriate; perhaps if we all paused to do that on a daily basis the need for loved ones to be involved in conflict would be lessened. I don't consider myself to be religious but I do recognize a spiritual commitment to all things created, most importantly to brothers and sisters at arms. Godspeed, Fats

If she ain't going to Washington DC, then she didn't get blown up, and need amputee care. I'd say it is good news.

What a drag, I flew missions (crew dog not pilot) against Iraq during the Iran-Iraq war, the Gulf war, the Kuwait reflagging, and the Iraq-Kuwait-Arabia war.

I think we've squandered our wealth on that shithole long enough. Nuke the bastards with a neutron weapon, and the oil will pump itself just fine.

The only good muslim is a dead muslim. I think that's what the Pope was trying to say.

Sorry for the politics, but war is politics.

had a real good buddy get crispy in a plane crash back in june and didn't know how bad for a couple of days (mech. failure; third degree on arms and face, was flying copilot in a cropduster and slid off the runway into a house), all ya can do is think about the positive and put your money on that outcome. sounds like all her limbs are there, that's somethin REAL positive. best wishes, man.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your niece and your family. At least she is able to call home , that is a good thing . I have a nephew over there right now and he has been through alot for someone his age. Also my daughter graduates Army basics this week at Fort Jackson , SC , she is going into medical training . Hope your niece recovers quickly and well , god bless.

    A32Flathead,
I got your PM and returned it.

    Good news!
I found her. She is an outpatient. That and her location and contact phone number is all they would tell me, but over here outpatient is good.

  24. Thank you, you have a PM.....

How's about we add Ol Sarge to the "super cool kick ass guy" list.
Hell, I'd even put him in the top 10.
