So color Roger uninformed about the salt. What most ordinary folks know about Bonneville dates from the days of Breedlove and Arfons battling back and forth. He does understand the meat of the story, even if his history is limited. And he liked it, so the SOB's not all bad.

  3. Same here in the Bay area, I wanted to go see it this weekend, but looks like we are gonna have to wait another week for it to arrive.... :(

JUST SAW IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only place that is showing it is southwest Connecticut is BRIDGEPORT. Nice theater with 11 other movies showing, never been there so we arrived late and missed the first 10 or so minutes, but saw the bike crated for the trip and what followed. Hopkins was great, you'll forget any roll he has played before, he became Burt Monro. It's a period perfect piece, the details are well though out, a true timewarp, feel good movie. Well worth the drive no matter how long it may be.:D

Just saw it. Excellent, with no sensational crap. Good enough to start a campaign for a "run with what you brung", "sign your life away", "no rules" division at Bonniville. No Disney padded cell stuff here. Go see it! It makes you feel good. True story.

World's record for under 1000cc that still stands today! What's cooler than that, in this old world of not much new anymore. Dig this.. It's like the world must slow way down, before we can ever hope to go any faster.

Saw it last night. Great film! Hopkins is a fine, fine actor. Cool cars in the background shots. Interactions with his nieghbors sound JUST like the bitching that some HAMBers do. And just wait until you see who the used car dealer that sells him the car to get to the salt is! Ha ha ha.

Go see this film. I am going to see it in Hollyweird so I can experience it on a BIG screen. Do not wait for the DVD to come out. The suits in Hollywood have to make money so they will do more films like this. I hope and pray that someone will do as high a quality movie about drag racing.

This is sad news; it looks like a lot of us won't see this movie shown locally. How long before it's on DVD ?...to buy or rent?

Just got back from this movie, and it was excellent. Favorite new movie that i've seen in a long time. Era and story was represented well and Anthony Hopkins did a great job.

Took both my wife and my 9 year old daughter. Both of them stated that it was a good movie as well. Take the family..... everyone should like it.

For those that are in areas it's not playing--- it's only been partially released. I expect it will open to a wide audience in a week or two.

    4.5 stars out of 5.

I saw the movie Friday night here in Phoenix. I thought it was damn good. Any gearhead will certainly dig it.

I can't wait to get it on DVD so I can properly scan the back ground in the Bonneville sequences. Bitchin' shit.

It was great! I think it might be my new favorite movie. I think it really captured a spirit that a lot of us harbor. No matter how much we don't have as long as we have our hot rods we have it all. Anthony Hopkins really played the role well. He had the accent down to a T! I think even non- gearheads will appreciate it, it is just really inspiring overall. I give it 4 out of 4 stars!

Saw it in San Jose, CA on Friday night. GREAT movie. It has it all: great story, great actors, awesome cars and bikes. My lady was a bit hesitant to go thinking it was just going to be a "bike movie." She LOVED it. And so did I.

"That's not a tear. I got some popcorn salt in my eye." :D

The Salt Flats are right in our back yard here in Utah. A lousy 2 hour drive from SLC no less. You would think that a film that was shot in Utah would have more than 2 screens in the whole state showing the thing!! Well, that’s the kind of thing I’m used to around here. If it ain’t Basketball or havin’ babies no one here cares! But I digress. I drove the 40 miles to see it Saturday night. The best movie I have ever seen. I have never been to a movie where at the end the audience stood and clapped! I was blown away! Go see this movie!

I saw it last night with my wife. I was sitting there enjoying it when I heard a little sniffle...My wifey was crying.
a little history here. My wife laughs out loud every time they shoot old yeller.
Bambi's dad getting wasted is good for a chuckle.
I wouldn't say she is mean or cruel...Souless comes to mind, but still not quite correct.
but my tough ass wife cried at the worlds fastest indian.
    God,I love her.:D
oh yeah, there is not a man in your whole family if you do not find a way to go see this incredible film on the big screen. just they "behind car" shots of mickey thompsons challenger are worth it.
not to mention the sound the pumpkin seed makes when it takes off.I got a little wood....

I think it has what all the great sports movies are made of. Triumph in spite of adversity. Under dog wins. Winning against all odds. An old guy showing the young un's how to get the job done. Working with little and using your wits. This should be up there with other great sport movies like "Rudy", "Remember the Titans", "Seabiscuit", to name a few. Instead it seems like all the fudge packing critics keep wankin' off to two has been actors who decide to dress up like cowboys and play hide the sausage on a camp out.
