Way off topic, but figured some of you guys could appreciate this... a documentary on the release of the new Shiner beer with some original music from the Gourds... welcome to Texas!

Check out the film excerpt (Old Geezers rule!) and the trailer here.

Back in the old days, before Shiner's formula was changed, it was one stout beer. Used to drink it, had to be kinda hardcore, too strong tasting for lots of folks, Shiner brewery was sold, when formula changed (70s?) much milder beer. Still good beer, esp Shiner Bock!! [IMG].

Another old memory up until mid 70s or so could not get Coors anywhere east of around Marble Falls, Tx. Some kind of freshness thing or something. Took 2 cases to Atlanta Ga in my suitcase on a plane one weekend, I was a popular boy!!! Think I even got laid that weekend. Twice.

I'm stoked, the closest grocery store carries it.

(That'd be any RALPHS, for my fellow southern-californicators)

Oh, but dont bother trying it, its NASTY! [IMG] (more for me!)

  13. speakin' of beer/bars...watchin' CMT last night and there's Krupanut and Outlaw standing in front of the Continental club talking about drinking beer and having fun in their bar of choice....man, I checked my glasses! It was a hoot! The show was called "We Love These Bars." It aired at 7pm last night.

    CMT Show Schedule

It also featured Steve W. talking about the scene and showed some nice rides...think I saw FlyRite Jason's purdy face in there too... [IMG]

Kyle, she was asleep. She already owes me a beating. We penned calves Monday night to take to sale, lease place has next to nothing pen, I have a 4' fiberglass "cow whopper" was whacking a calf on the ass trying to get it into trailer she had an electric prod in her hand she reached up to zap the calf just as I swung, hit her rt thumb full force with the fiberglass stick. Tried to get her to hit me back, now I sleep with 1 eye open.

Y'know, Shiner is sorta between San Antonio, Houston, and Austin... we should pick a Saturday to cruise down en masse and take the brewery tour. [IMG]

30 roadster where do you live? College station or Bryan? I've lived here my whole life ( 32 yeears) Live off of Highway 30. I teach at Bryan High and drive a channeled 88 suburban in tan primer with suicide rear doors. I thought my brother and I knew most of the gear heads around here. We have/had a ton o cars from the 20's on up. Mostly 50's cars and trucks. You might have seen my brothers ( droplord49) 49 dodge around town. Skirted, black with flames, bagged on big whitewalls. Any ways we need to meet sometime and check out each others junk.
