Being built in a local shop here by some FANTASTIC craftsmen. Not my style but the workmanship is way over the top. Believe it's being built as a Ridler contender 2008. Tim and Scott Divers are the builders and are unbelieveable in what they accomplish....good guys to boot!
sure looks like a lot of money to have a squareback VW....really though ..I can totally appreciate the workmanship.
Odd choice for the body, but yeah definitely great craftsmanship. I bet that thing would drive like a bat out of hell!!!
If I had 30 million dollars and owned the 20 bad*** cars I would like to have, this would be in the running for my 21st car. That is to say, I thought I would hate this thing, but I kinda like it. I like the fact that it would probably piss off ferrari guys, and I would love to pull up to a stoplight next to some tunerboy and blip the throttle. You know that mountain lion sound that ferraris make? (WHAUUWW) I like this car cause that's what I hear when I see it. Now someone slap me back to reality so I can go make some progress on my A.
Harrah had a Jeep Grand Wagoneer that he had a Ferrari v-12 dropped in. it would be really cool to go complete sleeper and loose the ferrari wheels.
The car is owned by Mike Warn, of Warn Winch fame. I believe that he owns a Ferrari dealership in the Portland, OR area. So he some incite into finding an engine from a totaled ferrari. The Divers' are great guys, and if you talked to them you wouldn't know that they build 6+ figure cars. Definitely nothing like Coddington. Dave
Looks Italian to me! The side gl*** and cold air boxes made of clear plex and duct work to the engine would be a natural. Tan perforated leather....
This thing is BAD***!!! Tim is a great customer of ours, so I have seen and heard some of detail stuff. Check out how the Ferarri emblems are inset into the fender like stock. Mid engined, paddle shift, complete Ferrarri drive train. The level of detail is going to nuts. One of buddies is doing all of prep and detailing. I can't tell you how many hours he has into the engine alone. Going to be one fun little car.
Enzo is rolling in his grave! BUT I however love the concept I would have only changes the car to something cooler. The wagon just doesnt do it for me.
This was built back in the 60's. Dude that owns it now still drives it. Has a 6 cyl. Ferrari engine.-MIKE
people wreck them all the time. One dude out here in utah just totaled his Enzo last season driving home.
I didn't realize it was a common thing. I've only ever seen 3 my entire life. I didn't even realize there was a ferrari dealer in my town until I just googled it. Good to know incase I ever wanna have a pasta powered machine.
Ferrari made a 6 inline? Exhaust kinda looks like a Jag.. ( which would be a little bit less of a waste on that Thing...) The Ferrari driveline in the first car would be a lot cooler in a old beat up Fiero Body...
I'm with metalshapes...looks like a Jag straight 6. Oil filler is in the same location, cam gear lumps on the front of the engine, exhaust looks identical to a Jag.
If I remeber correctly, there was a small write up in Hot Rod about this. I guess the former Ferrari owner loaned the car to his son for prom and he promptly wrapped it into ball.
