So I gave away all of my old Rod and Customs. What's that old saying about junk being what you need right after you toss it out?
Anyhow, I'm hoping someone here can scan the article that ran on carving your own tiki heads out of old telephone poles. I kinda need to see it!
Also, if anyone has any info, advice, or links to sites on carving tikis, I'd love too know about 'em.
    Thanks

  2. There's a pretty good magazine that's published locally here in San Diego...simply called Tiki magazine and they usually have features on Tiki carvers, etc...usually pick it up at Border's or Barnes and Noble

I've got a four footer a buddy carved for me. It's pretty bitchin'! He finds palm stumps in the alleys around town from recently removed trees and turns them upside down so the wide part is on top. He carves the with a grinding wheel with chain saw teeth that he bought on the internet somewhere. He's made sveral.

I like tikis, have since I was a kid. I thought it was kinda funny when i went to the tikiroom website that the first thread I opened was guys arguing about why traditional tikis are better than newer style ones. :p

I've found some neat small ones lately at swap meets. I'm going to snap some pics later and post em.
