FAB, I am sure you can find a CNC type job around DFW. Especially since the contract for the new Joint Strike Fighter plane was given to Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth. In addition to L-M jobs, there will be a lot of outside companies building tooling, prototype parts, etc for that contract. I am pretty sure almost all of that work will be CAD/CAM/CNC so start looking.

Here is a link for employment at L-M:

Then my boy, move to the desert of Washington State! No income taxes! Live in Prosser or Grandview and get tons of property for next to nothing.

  10. You can't go...Carolina's old car cool factor would drop by 20~30%.

I've lived in Florida...no income tax, but you get paid in 'sunshine dollars'..."It's a fringe benefit to be in Florida, where everybody loves to vacation, so we don't pay you as much!" And you'll have to trade the purple Buick for a white Oldsmobile.

me and my girl have thought about moving to florida, then we remembered....it's Florida. Florida definately ain't the place to go for the weather from what i remember of the many many summers i spent there as a kid. Hot as balls and wetter than a taco bell*****.

Come to Vegas... there are tons of jobs here, and you would not believe the old tin lying around in yards that are rust free! I moved out here in April, so I got to enjoy the 115 degree summer days, but now its beautiful! I've gotten to go to the L.A. Roadster Show, and Bonneville, and all kinds of things I used to just dream about!

Gracie, I considered it since I used to live right under Sunrise Mountain, but getting all of my stuff out there would be expensive as hell. Plus, at the time, machinist jobs were few and far between.

I can get my 49 shipped out here for a measley $750... so your stuff shouldn't cost too much... the job market is freaking amazing out here... well, if you all get a hankerin' for the desert let me know... I'll help you out if I can. This town seems just right for your woman... she is funny as hell! She's great!

Are you talking about my wife? She's from there! She used to want to move back, but then she remembered the schools she went to, and since our daughter's 8 years old..well, you can guess the rest.
We both miss the hell out of the desert, though. Thanks...I'm not counting anything out yet, except staying here.

Seriously check that link I gave you. A lot of the bases have major machine shops and you can't beat the gov't bennies.
