Since this is a requirement (and to be polite to those I'm watching/listening to) I'm now in compliance. Check my profile, I did that too.
I went to H.A.M.B. drags in Asbury, August '06 and it blew me away!! This is just like the old Kansas City Timing Association (KCTA) San Antonio or almost any other strip I went to from '60-'70 when I switched to motocross. This year I'm bringing wife and several other old race buddies from cars and bikes days.
What's happening here gives me hope that the world is not consumed by billet, 30" wheels, and support for builders who compete in the Riddler, AMBR, etc.
I owned 31 cars from age 16 to 25 and only 1 during my two years at Ft Hood in the middle. My motto for many years has been "If it consumes fossil fuel or smells like fish, I'm probably interested in it." Mercruiser has made some killer motors and parts for other projects. :)
This is it, I'm back to listening to Tom Waits and watching this site.........

Welcome aboard. I am guessing Ft Hood is not a place you want to visit again.LOL I live about 75 miles from there and can hear the big guns on a quite day.

I liked my time there. I would drive my 5 ton rig up into the hills and watch the practice firing. Something about loud noises.....

    Welcome aboard!

Hope to see you at some local shows this summer.

Don't even think about missing Crusin the Heartland in Lawerence or the Greaserama at he Boulevard Drive-In. You'll regret it if you do.

Missed Greaserama! I was telling an old buddy about the first gathering on Gilham and then he told me I missed the Boulevard. I live less than5 minutes away, so must have been out of town that weekend. I learned about this site and the Asbury drags last July. I'm going to bring at least half a dozen fellow "veterans" from KCTA this year. May get them motivated. My project is a '31 A frame, 305, TH350 with a '27 T glass body (Icouldn't afford steel with 2 kids in college).
