Obscure engine identification quiz

    Most will recognize the carb, but what engine is this and what car is it in?

    looks like a lycoming air cooled in the back of a tucker.

    Air-cooled V8 in the rear of a Czec-built 1936 T-87 Tatra.

    2.97 litre, 5.6:1 compression, 75X84mm bore/stroke. 75 HP@3500 RPM. Solex double-downdraft carb. [​IMG]

    Man, I love me some Tatras... very interesting engineering, very interesting style. I've heard of Tracta, but never seen one! Good looking car... I really dig some of those european 30's cars..
