So we bought our truck from Alabama. I live in south Florida. Unfortunately for us, the gentleman we bought from did not have a ***le because in the state of Alabama, they do not have to have a ***le to own or register a truck as old as mine (1962.) Here in Florida, I have to have a ***le to register it. All I have is a bill of sale. Has anyone here in Florida went through and of the procedures to obtaining a ***le? Thanks in advance for any feedback
It it soooooo easy! Get in touch with Florida fast ***le out of Tampa. You will have your ***le in no time.
First thing is to go on the Florida DMV site and actually see what you need to do. You always get the BS'ers who throw out what happens in their states when asking on a forum but don't get the actual info you need. Just gotta ask, why the hell didn't you check with the Florida DMV before going to Alabama to buy the rig so you would know what you needed? This is where doing your homework before the actual purchase counts for a lot. The form you have to fill out http://www.flhsmv.gov/dmv/forms/BTR/82040.pdf http://www.dmv.org/fl-florida/***le-transfers.php Actually on one that age it probably isn't as big a h***le as it seems except having to pony up the 225 bucks for " a new vehicle on the road" fee.
Exactly! Where's the factory that makes these cookies? Next, he'll wanna know what color to paint it. PURPLE! Paint it PURPLE!
This should not be a problem even in Florida. Alabama like many states no longer issue ***les for older vehicles, they are transferred with the registration certificate you should have received from the seller. That and the bill of sale should be all you need to transfer the ***le and register the car there in Florida. This should be a real simple thing even though dealing with DMV is many times anything but simple. There is available from the Alabama DMV on request a letter explaining to your Florida DMV. I am sure however that Florida DMV already knows how to go about this. Man just go down there and talk to the rascals they will get you squared away.
I have transferred a number of pre 73 vehicles with Alabama paperwork in Florida. If you have the Alabama registration and the bill of sale from the owner you should be good to go.You will also need either the vehicle so they can verify the VIN or one of the forms that the DMV will give you so you can have a notary verify the VIN. Not really much to it.
Just call Florida fast ***le they will send you a package with a vin verification form... ANY notary can verify the vin number. Send it back in and like magic a ***le will arrive in the mail.. As long as the vin is not on a hot sheet somewhere it is yours... It really is that easy..
download a vin inspection report. https://www.flhsmv.gov/dmv/forms/btr/82042.pdf Have a notary or local law enforcement verify the vin. Take this form and your bill of sale to the tag office. Buy your new tag and ***le.
Thanks guys! As far as why I didn't go to the dmv first is because I found the truck on a Saturday morning, drove to Alabama that evening because I got it for a price I couldn't p*** on and knew there would be some way or another I could get it done. Was just asking for advice in case someone knew a quicker way than a bonded ***le or pe***ioning the courts. Thanks for the good info. I will look into all the tips.
if you got a tag reg and a bill of sale in the same person name take it and the truck to dmv and they will give you a fla ***le. if you do not have a tag reg you are screwed
I'm not sure about the factory buy we got a couple of shops up the street that sell them. Seriously, we get a lot of posts on here on this subject. I always do the homework first and part with my cash second especially where large amounts of cash are concerned. And hit the cookie store on the way home.
Great Screamin Goats...How many times has this came up? Allways do the home work first. I don't do the home work if the paper ain't right.
