The simplest explanation is always the correct one, at least for this. I had upgraded the brakes last year along with the Borgeson steering box, but at the time couldn’t get them bled. Then I busted the windshield and walked away from the car until now. Today I got my power bleeder out and tackled it. Fronts bled easily, clear fluid right away, the rear bleeders cracked but no fluid. I started at the front, cracking fittings, fluid everywhere, nothing past the rear flex line . What? 20 years ago when I pulled the car into the garage it had brakes… Turned out to be the flex line. I’ve had them fail and let fluid through under pressure but collapse and not let fluid back, hanging up brakes. This wouldn’t let fluid either way. So, tomorrow I’ll get a new one and cheat chore off the list.
Isn’t it Occam’s Razor? aaaaaanywho glad you diagnosed it quick, gotta love an easy win after some time away. looking forward to reading about more progress on this!!!
I had the same problem on an OT car recently...open the bleeder, nothing comes out...loosen the fitting between the metal line and rubber hose, lots of fluid. I was able to poke a piece of baling wire through the hose and get it to work. The hose is only about 20 years old
I remember poking a wire through a plugged flex line to get fluid to go through. I was going to replace it, but it worked so I drove it for a couple of years and sold it.
Now that's thinking both inside and outside the shaving soap box. I guess it's how you end up with one of those bald, hairless cats that never cough up a hairball.
I have dealt with a hand full of Blocked rubber line , I cut one one time curious to see why I was unable to poke a pick threw the hard crude , but drilled semi soft & sticky
If the job got done in a reasonable amount of time and the OSHA man wasn't there to see it, was there actually a violation? This is Schrodinger's Inspection -rick
