This car has been around here for a long time, and I dig it. Maybe Hemi Deuce can fill in some history on it.

I started this last year with a T-tudor, I'm gonna try to make it a tradition. My annual "resto-rod with a jag rear" post. This car is a seventies survivor, although Im pretty sure the T-70s are a recent addition. I liked this car a lot, and it attracted a fair bit of buzz.

Better follow that up with a proper "HAMB-mobile"...HB32 really liked this car, so did I.

I counted four '40 converts, but missed getting photos of all of them, and one wasn't HAMB friendly, sure was nice though. I kind of have a thing for Merc caps...

There was a lot of talk around this car, I thought it was Jag powered, but 29bowtie said this was a Holden six...pretty interesting car...

I tried to arrange a HAMB meet 'n greet, but other than a bunch of us that already know each other, kantspell was the only "unknown Hamber" that showed up, so I figured the least I could do was take a pic of his car. His real name is Ryan, but apparently, some other guy already had that user name...

Theres more to come, I'll pick this up tomorrow

honestly Larry, there were several other cars I should have shot pics of that I missed. Theres a lot of socializing at this show, I always get home and look through my pics and notice all the cool cars I missed. Its a pretty good show. maybe Don or Ryan can fill in some of the blanks, there was a local 3 window with a lot of history I missed, and a Model 40 five window that was pretty neat, a '40 convert that got missed. I try to not post any of the same cars I shot last year, theres still a fair bit more to come tomorrow. And yes, that tub was pretty damned cool.

I think I have a Hot Rod feature on this car from about 50 years ago, I'll post it tomorrow, maybe Hemideuce will confirm if I am correct.

This car isnt really pink, my ****ty little digital camera seems to have some trouble coping with bright reds.

ocean park 087.jpg There were at least three other cars painted virtually the same Pea Green colour. I really liked the interior in this car, it was two-tone green, but I forgot to shoot a pic. ocean park 089.jpg ocean park 092.jpg

I think most HAMBers know this car, and I posted a pic of it in last years tri-five club picnic coverage, unfortunately, that show is history.

This car had a nailhead in it.
ocean park 097.jpg I saw this car about twenty years ago at the show at Olympic Park in Mission. Still looks good. ocean park 096.jpg ocean park 099.jpg

ocean park 070.jpg Ok, its a bit street-rod for the HAMB, but this '34 tudor was damned nice. ocean park 105.jpg
This deal was really different. Note the fifth wheel and duals. The '57 Ford behind this truck belongs to a friend of Hemideuce, it had a THUMPIN FE in it, and the redline on the tach was set at 7 grand....

Thanks for the pics. I was going to go but I had to miss as I started a sheet metal for restoration cl*** today. Haven't missed this show for years but I need to invest in the future.

Thats all from me for this year, I know there were several cars I missed, maybe someone else can fill in a few blanks. Fortunateson, I was hoping to meet up with you and FEDman, maybe next year.

  17. Great pics. It was good to meet you guys too. Always nice to put a face to the names. Unfortunately I don't have any pics to add, forgot to check the camera battery last night.

    Love the coverage,so thank you.

Kan't spell, I find myself staring at your car. Love the color combo and stance. Although I would not copy, your car is an inspiration for the next reincarnation of mine. I have some body work to address at a later date?

My battery went dead at the end too. Thats why I missed a few. It was great to meet you too. I think 29bowtie was taking pics, maybe he can add a few.

It looks pretty damn good in person. You can spot that roof all the across the parking lot.

  22. Thanks.

  23. Funny you should say that. At one point I was watching the roof from across the show as a tow truck drove by. I was a little concerned about my questionable parking.:D

I am generally not a big patina fan, but man, that car had stance out the ying-yang, and you gotta love a full-fendered Model 40 tub. I kept thinking how killer it would be in Mandarin Maroon with charcoal wheels...

I was standing there talking with Don when you pulled in. All I could see was the top of the roof, but I knew it was your car right away.:D

Thanks fuzzy, didn't know that. Guys had
more friggen cars than jay Leno! I was gonna say Bill Harrah, but I figured the post Barrett-Jackson crowd wouldn't know what I was babbling about.

George... If that's the correct hood and grille on that snappy Model 40 tub, then it's a '33!

(the swoop of the grille; the stance standin' still...and a hearty "Hi-Ho Silver!")
Love these pics. (what isn't HAMB friendly about the '40 ragtop with the '50 Merc ash can caps?)
