Check with Isky. I bought a new Isky E-2 for my 331 in April 2010. At that time they still had brand new cam blanks and could make any grind.

The speed shop that I got it from had to call Isky directly, and then get ahold of the right Isky employee to get it ordered. Bought an extra cam blank, too.

  2. Herbert cams will grind a cam for you. I think Bass had Don there grind him one for his coupe if I remember correctly. Donnie has been there for a long time and is a master at grinding cams. I beleive you can reach him by calling Herbert cams.

  3. I've had great luck with vintage speed. Wish I would have bought my valley pan from them instead of Eelco...NEW,it needed to be surfaced in order to seal.

My Eelco valley pan needed to have material taken off for the temp sender. I just discovered yesterday it needs material taken off for the distributor to slide down into place. That sucks because I locked down the valley pan and intake after clearancing it for the temp sender figuring it would be good. I didn't have the magspark at the time to check fit.

Something to be aware of if you're considering an Eelco valley cover. If I had it to do over again, I'd just chrome the stock valley pan. And so not to post without contributing to the odd ball part...

Magspark redone good as new by GMC Bubba

The pattern has gone missing, but about 4 years ago a man was recasting them in Norway, I could be wrong about the local though and even though I saw his stuff on line at that time it is no where to be found now.
I sold this one on Ebay about 3 years ago for I think just over 2k.

The Hilborn is likely the rarest, according to Stu H they made them for the Allards and a couple dozen casting were foundered but less then that were ever machined and delivered to customers. The original prototype is floating around; it is slightly different with much less casting and more machininig marks on the base; I saw it sell on Ebay it was incomplete and and went for around $1100 then a few months later it was attempted to be re-sold.

I'll have to load these pics to photo bucket

The Hilborn is a new old stock I traded Stu for about 4 years ago. My father had purchased one for his 777 roadster in 54 or there abouts and it got hammered sitting out in the Texas sun while the 777 was rusting away waiting to be found.
That's how I got the rest of the info from Stu about his involvement with the Allards and how many were produced.

Photobucketed the Cad 2X3 and it turned it into an attached thmbnail sorry... if someone really needs that shot email me direct and I'll send it that way the file is 2.5mb

    I have a 1958 Hilborn Fuel injector for a 363 C.I. Caddy.

It has the matching pump, hoses are all there, have all 8 stacks, I dont know a lot about vintage Cadillac stuff but it seems complete.

I have copy of original receipt from hilborn, with all the specs, valve size, nozzle size, etc, and everything matches to that original receipt.

Just was hoping to get some feedback from some people that would know about this thing.

    Thanks

Cadillac had a 331, a 365 and a 390 in that series of engine. Cadillac made the 365 between 1956-1958. The ports on the 331 head are smaller. Your unit should fit the 390 as well which used the same heads as the 365.

I would very much like to see pictures of it!

Couldn't have been many! Since they were't very popular, I'd give you $49 for that one... ;)

Looks to be in great shape.

If you can measure the port dimension at the gasket surface I can measure both a 331 and a 390 head to verify the application.

    -------------------
The Edelbrock marine manifolds are cast
aluminum and water cooled. In a car, without
a lake or river full of cold water to circulate
through them to cool them, they'd melt. By
the way, Chris-Craft - to name one - and
several other boat manufacturers too - back
in the mid-50's and early 60's, offered
'marinized' versions of the Caddy V8 as an
    OEM option in their boats.

you guys think that maybe that transmission bellhousing company might have just made that using a two part mold? it seems like without that one section you could bolt on lets say an early ford trans. so maybe to cut costs they use the same mold and just add the rear section for whatever application they want after the caddy engine?

Very possible they made the pattern that way so they could interchange the back. The patterns for sand casting are often made of wood.

  20. jfrolka, Are these still available?

O'Brien Truckers has been making a valley cover for the early Cads for 15 years in the USA (and it's been "borrowed" by a couple of other manufacturers.)

We have them as cast or polished and if you're an Alliance Member you get 10% off.

I should've bought yours Dennis. The Eelco I got needed material grinded off by the temp sender and the distributor as well as the rear bolt hole not quite lining up.

    472 doesn't use a valley cover. I think you mean the 429.

  24. Opps, yep meant to say 429 - all fixed.

    Thanks,
