It always amazed me that the Canadian Pontiacs had sbc's in them - how can you enhance a performance image with a big ol' Poncho with a 283/2bbl? hp/wt ratio musta been gross I used to fly up to Canada a lot back in "the day" to some pretty obscure villages - tons of Merc trucks and stuff I can no longer recall dj
We have a 64 Parisienne 2 door hardtop factory 409 car. It's basically a 64 Impala X frame with Catalina sheetmetal and chevy drivetrain.
And last...2 ads for the 56 Monarch....One for the french Market and one for the english... My Southern brothers always freak when they see a 56 Monarch....Mr. Moustache grill......
Another Frontenac, from the looks of the grille. This one's a Ranchero. You've gotta love a car with red maple leaves on the hubcaps... and such a cool name! -Dave
I wish I knew more about it, I just found it when searching Photobucket under "Falcon." Often, I wish there was a way to contact people about their Photobucket account, you see some cool/odd things and want to know more. As far as Frontenac, I believe Ford of Canada's website said the car was named after a 17th or 18th Century governor of what was then New France(notice lots of French names for Fords up there... Richlieu, for example), but lots of things are named Frontenac including a county in Ontario, a city in Quebec and I believe a lake. My question is why the Chevrolet brothers decided on that particular name. According to Wikipedia it's a city in France, too. Maybe that's where they were from. -Dave
