Technical Odd Ford distributor, what is it?

I've seen a lot of Ford distributors but nothing like this. Yes, I Googled all the tag info and it seems 12127 is the generic class of parts, I get a damn white pages level of every other distributor they made. This thing makes me think Super Duty truck or industrial, but it is 8cyl. What the Sam Hell...

 

Using FDV-12127-G, I couldn't get an exact match. However, I did find similar distributors and they say Ford truck with a 337 engine.

 

With 8 lobes?
