Here is my Used to be Odd Rod, 1946 lincoln Continental, built out of the residuals of a lincoln restoration.
Here are a couple of pics of my 36 International C-1. I just got a good 360/727 to power it. I was originally going to chop it but recently I've seen some low fender-less trucks that look pretty good un-choped. Who knows.
Photoshop of what I "think" my Dodge will look like by Round Up...minus the color. Not sure what I was doing with that.
Not really considerd a rod ofcourse, but I like to slide in some pics of my fullsize stuff If ya'll don't mind...
It'll be alright, they'll get over it, or not. Besides I'm useing a T grill shell. I just don't have to patience for restorations. The wheels are a set of Salt Flat specials I had, they got sold to buy a pair of 10" slots, and a ton of other bits 'n' pieces. Sorry N/B lost my only pic of the Metro Gnome.
PnB said it. Vintage British Road Racers. The green one is my Mallock. Ive heard that Mallock Racing is the oldest Racecar manufacturer that is still in business. The red one is Jasag, a Scottish built Clubmans racer that used to compete against Mallocks.
This has been a "GREAT RUN"!!!, Odd Rods/Odd Racers/Odd Customs/ Man they are all CARS!! and that is "MY THANG" Keep 'Em coming.
This is my makings of what Hillman would of had if they made a pickup. This was a 1949 Hillman Minx 4 door car!!
Fitzee, That pickup conversion is superb. The proportions are spot-on. Have you decided what to do for a bed yet?
Its definitely ODD that someone would like a RAMBLER or think it could be a hotrod. Ramblers were always considered suitable for old people in the 50s when I was a kid. I know that AMC changed that but that was a lot later and even then AMC lovers were out of the usual.
Here are some pictures of odd rods from this area. The oddest one I know about is under construction. Guy is trying to turn a late S-10 into a 39 Study pickup. But you gotta know the guy to understand!
How about a 41 Continetal chopped, lift off hard top, shortened into a 2 seater, lengthened cowl, 39 Zephyr fenders or, 53 Henry J chopped custom, on a Turbo LeBaron floorpan.
I believe that is a Hudson from australia? whatever it is or where ever it is from, it Looks GREAT!!!
WELL, EVERYONE HAS TO BE SOMEWHERE TRYING SOMETHING OR THEY'LL LAY DOWN AND DIE. see you Monday nite?
Man, you guys are sick! I love it...Favorites so far are the Kaiser custom(!), hot rod Rambler and the Hillman pickup - I know a guy here who built one just like it - runs a tunnel ram big block w/ nitrous, in the back (no bed). Keep 'em coming...
RAMBLERs are odd, but isn't that what hot rodding is about, being different? If i goto a car show there isn't going to be many of them...Plus everyone I talk to tells me a story about the Rambler that was in their family.
