Saw this on ebay: Sounds like it was built in the late 50's/early 60s maybe on a 58 Mopar Ch***is. I saw that first vintage B&W photo and thought it was OK in a Batmobile way, but then I saw the current condition photos shot from the front: Yikes! Anyone remember an show or magazine coverage on this "thing"? Link to ebay auction: http://i13.ebayimg.com/01/i/03/d7/3c/53_12_sb.JPG
It kinda looks like one was built to look like the other.. not sure which is which.. but it doesn't really look like the same car to me.
I think that we are looking at two different cars. The car in the bw pic looks longer, has headrest pods. The red had thinner rocker trim, a door outlined in trim and no headrest pod things.
didn't someone post about about that car six months ago when it was discovered? It looks familiar for some reason. d
i thought the same thing, but if you see the other pics from different angles it's the same car the roof is lift off. still, i don't think i need it.
I'm pretty sure it's the same car.God! Can you imagine if there were two and oe was male and the other female? We'd have a whole race of those things to deal with!!! Reminds me of a car a friend of mine owns that was built in the late 50's with a hand made fibregl*** body and the same type of windshield.Built on an early Olds frame and driveline. He bought it an an auction and fixed it up.Named it,"F-UGLY" and it fits.I'll have to get some pictures when he gets back from Arizona. Actually I kind of like it in it's present configuration but I'd drive it without the top.Oh well you know the old used car salesman's motto:"An *** for every seat"
The first picture looks like a photoshop, that has been made to look like an old distressed photo to hide the join marks. The wheels on the first pic look way to modern for a '50's car.
What the hell do you wear when you drive that thing-a wrestling mask? I want to see that on 'Pimp my Ride'!
