Hey all, saw this on fb marketplace over here in the UK and thought I’d share as it’s pretty unusual!! Advert says it’s a 40’s ambulance converted to a tow truck at some point. it’s up for £5k Anyways, enjoy the pics.
Great , now how in hell is @anthony myrick gonna get that one home Certainly not by driving LHD too, probably has some WWII history.
Cool. DGE197 appears to be properly registered with DVLA (UK version of DMV), 1940 Ford etc. I wonder where it went and what will become of it. Hopefully not a coffee van! Chris
“How cool is this !!!!!! Barn stored from 1980 and probably unused since the 1960’s. A 1940 Ford R01T 221cu flat head V8 Ambulance converted to a breakdown truck, with nicely done chariot body and a Mann Eggerton jib in the back . Now in need of restoration but what a rewarding project it is. It rolls and the engine is free, Has a current up to date V5 and original registration. Available to view in South Derbyshire . This isn’t overly big as can be seen as the last picture shows it on the back of the delivery truck“ from the advert
I’d drive it and haul home more stuff lol The extended area would hold tools , ice box and a fold down cot for long road trips
I know it’s OT but I have a 1976 IH truck with a DT466 that has a bad cab . That would set down on the frame nicely. Might have to move the fire wall back a little bit lol
