Hey, I'm probably the least religious person on the planet, but I cannot possibly believe someone is giving you shit over this thread!
If this guy, his family and obviously good friends can fine comfort and reassurance through their beliefs, LEAVE 'EM ALONE!
That said, I know how bad this scene is, and my thoughts are with your bud. I look forward to reading about his progress.

 

Can someone set up a way people on here can contribute to help him? whether people are believers or not, the fact is a fellow member is going to need our help badly, him and his family both. We came together to help Hamb Andy and his family,this guy is in a world of pain, Having seen what my own friend went through just burning his arms in a gasoline fire, it's impossible to describe unless you have been through it,or seen someone go through it, I'm broke as dirt myself,being laid off, but I'll contribute something, This could have been anyone on this board. Most everyone here works with fuel on a pretty regular basis. A lot more then the average person. To the people who did the striping for him, and are talking about the auctions, you guys are awesome.

 

I have an idea, it depends on how bad he is burned though, someone will have to talk to the family, maby someone could send him an mp3 player loaded with some music? I say mp3 player because it can be sealed in a clear bag and operated through the bag, if it had a standard pair of over the ear earphones, the earphones could be covered in plastic to keep everything sterile.

HERE'S THE LATEST ON ODINS701 ----- he is currently in his third surgery. Today is CRITICAL!!! They have already grafted skin on both of his arms and the front of his torso. That was the first two surgeries. Today, they turned him over and have to remove all of the damaged skin and tissue , then graft on the donor skin. This is really delicate as all of our nerve routes travel the spine and branch out between the vertabrae into different parts of the body. He has the best medical team, period! There is assistance from Duke University as well as the latest techniques and technology from the Eastern Virginia Medical School. Despite his having contracted pnuemonia, he is doing far better than expected.

There is a new thread started in the HAMB Chapel as well. Please visit there and hey, stay awhile.....or forever. That is the place for all Christians to meet, pray and give praise. It's in Social Groups under 'uncategorized". I hope to see you there.

Thank you for all of the prayers....they have been passed on to his wife and family. They call it the "Book of Prayers" and that's great. Keep him in your thoughts and prayers, he still has quite a ways to go. But, the Lord has touched him and he's doping very well.

 

That's a great idea Lost, but, his ears are burnt.....sooooo, we put a set of those little speakers on a stainless bar and we're gonna try that.

Hey... will the hospital let you clamp anything to the foot board of the bed? I've got a couple of neat hood ornaments from 50's cars that I could mount on a clamp and polish up with some Brasso.

It would be the most bitchin' hospital bed ever.

Thanks so much to everyone is is wishing him well and doing what they can to help out, all of the encouragement on here is going to his family and I'm sure it means the world right now, If i was a lot closer i would be visiting, but all i can do is what i'm able to on here. The post office is closed tomorrow, but when they open, I'm sending one of the air cleaners I made for My Su's to Chandler for striping,then it will be on the way to decorate his room. These were my first prototypes, and have a bit of a story behind them, as well as a story about a good friend who did my welding on them , he's also a survivor, I'll include a note explaining it all. He's going to make it, i'm sure of it, I can feel it. just keep pulling for him.
