Talk about trends and how they don't fit here. Wouldn't what's considered a traditional car, have been a trend back then?
One and half years of the OT Forum ,the sky didn’t fall, the HAMB is as good as ever, lots of cool **** on the OT forum. In particular @squirrel has some amazing adventures on OT forum as well as the HAMB. Also lots of good stuff on muscle cars etc. Dan
Some people still have a tendency to post off topic content on the main board, because we have the off topic forum, these threads get moved rather than deleted. Might be the same amount of moderating but with less ruffled feathers
Definitely great to share some of our other stuff with our friends on the HAMB! Many members have both On & Off topic Cars, Trucks & even Motorcycles. This is an addictive hobby & for a lot of folks it is not just one period/genre/fad. God Bless Bill https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...ar-transport-hauling-open-or-enclosed.614419/
I will be starting my off topic drag and drive car this spring and will be doing a build thread in the off-topic forum. I would tell you what it is, but it's off topic, so you get to wait. Here is a hint. It's the yellow one... -Abone.
Time is like a roll of toilet paper... the first half of the roll is used up slowly and the last half just flies off of the roll.
I personally like it a lot. Less Knickers in a Knot ! So many great cars of the mid 60s to 70s that were excluded before .
I was about to say the same thing, but you beat me to it! Friend of mine had a yellow one back in high school, used to describe it as a mini Corvette. It was a neat ride!
I just wish more people knew about this place. Although I have 2 pretty much On-Topic style HAMB cars, my current focus is mid 70's stuff. That's when I started into the Hot Rod game, and those cars and that era are what floats my boat. The main reason I got into the HAMB long ago was because of the knowledge base that the guys have. I am not a Flathead/whitewalls/6 volt kinda guy, more into 454's/BFG's/MSD. There's no parallel board for "Generation Jones", (of course!).
I love the look of the drag/last g***er Opel GT's. I know where there's a stillborn one with full tube ch***is and radiused wheel wells/monster slicks.
I just found this side of the HAMB, and have no interest in cars built in my lifetime, with a few exceptions, I'll turn 75 next month. Finding the thread about the 200MPH Sunbeam being at Pebble Beach on my first visit makes this section worth a visit. You never know what is hiding on a swap meet table, or what somebody has hiding in a garage behind stuff you have no interest in. That is a lesson I keep learning. Happy Thanksgiving! Bob
That’s the beauty of this entire place, pretty much something for everyone. I’ll never race on the salt flats or own a low riding custom but I absolutely love reading about said cars. I encourage all of us old farts to talk and listen to the tuner kids. Not because that may be something we will do but because you will see the p***ion these kids have, just like us 50,60 years ago - different but the same. I talked with a young man - twenty maybe, he was very knowledgeable about muscle cars and even older stuff, actually schooled me a little on Chevelles which I’ve owned and know a little about. Dan
