Saw this in Baltimore. It had an SS emblem on the grille.

  4. 1969 SS I picked up as a roller, no motor or trans, for my oldest Grandson back in 2017.

    1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg

He and I have completely gone thru suspension, steering and brakes on both ends. Installed a mild 350 (out of his Dad's '57 Belair) with a TH350 trans that I had sitting in the shop and returned interior back to original.

He's been driving it for the past 3 years and it still has that same ****ty paint job, he hasn't decided whether to paint it or not!

Bought this '64 a couple of years ago. Solid floors, rockers and smugglers box, and no dents in the bed. Plus, it had a 4 speed. I couldn't p*** it up.
Hope to have it running this year.

‘68-72 el Camino’s are some of my favorites.

  7. We're just finishing up warming up that mild 1975 350 4 bolt main engine that had a RV cam, Edelbrock intake and long tube headers. Replaced RV cam with a Comp Cam L79+ cam and lifter kit and swapped out the original heads with 1964 Corvette double hump heads. Should breathe a bit better....

  11. I was watching a video on the Dr. George charity show and driving in was a 65 Chevelle 4 door wagon that was turned into an El Camino. At least that's what I think they started with. I don't ever remember seeing a 4 door E.C. or Ranchero. :)

  12. It's real cold and I wasn't busy. :)

I have a 72. My grampa bought it in 77, all stock white, black vinyl top, 350 auto. Somewhere down the line he got his hands on the cowl hood off a 70 Chevelle. My grampa gave it to my dad for his first car in the 80’s, while In high school my dad painted it and was able to get his hands on a sprint sp and got the hood pins/core support top plate and air cleaner to Mach the functional cowl hood. I’ve owned it about 4 years now. I installed an olds 403 with super t10, posi, no hop bars. Firewall forward has been stripped down and cleaned powder coated or painted, new bushings, tie rods, brakes etc.
this is it when I received it( I put the wheels temporarily to move it)

'64 through '67 El Camino bodies were compact & square. Such a good look.

1968 El Camino tailgates were devoid of the rectangular backup lights used on '69 - 72 models.Really clean looking to my eye. Backup lights were installed in the bumper cutouts like on a '67 Chevelle. These cutouts contained reflectors on the later models.
