Hey guys, As a lot of you know, the Kurtis Tommy Lee Special is powered by a 270 c.i. Offenhauser engine. It currently is fed my a single Marvel Schebler which chokes it out horribly. While it makes for a reasonably docile street engine, our calculations say it likely isn't providing the engine with much more than 125hp worth of air. We have purchased a pair of 1.5" Winfield carbs which should pretty much double the quantity of airflow which should, in turn, produce significantly more power. We now have an opportunity to purchase a pair of 2" Riley carbs but are wondering how streetable the Rileys will be. Should we stick to the Winfields? Any input from the experts would be much appreciated... Thanks!
