A friend of my has a '55 Pontiac, and he heard that Offenhauser was re-popping manifols for the 287... he's looking for anything that's not a two barrel for his car. Anyone know of Offy is re-making these, or at least of someone has one for sale? I can't for the life of me find an Offenhauser website...
the only aftermarket manifolds avalible for the 55-60 pontiac's were 2-4's, 3-2's, or 6-2's the only ones still avaliable as of about a year ago were the 2-4 and 3-2 both through offy no one ever made a single 4 barrel aftermarket intake for these engines. if your buddy's interested i have a 3-2's that was made from a single two barrel intake. its set up to run stromberg or any other three bolt carbs. i bought if from a friend a while back. he had a 57 gmc truck with a pontiac 347 in it he ran the truck with this intake for several years then went to a chevy engine. i was going to use it but am running 6-2's instead anyways if your buddy's interested let me know and i'll get some pics.
Edelbrock made an EP4B (Early Pontiac 4-Barrel) for the pre-'61 motors. I recently sold mine to a friend. Want me to see if he'll sell it ?
I got a 3x2 factory intake that has a date of late 57. If interested email me. I will leave early the 18th for a week.
sjfast wish i new edelbrock made a single four barrel a few years ago i called everyone at the time and they said a single four barrel didn't exist but that was probably just in current production anyways heres pictures of the 3-2
