Ok, another dual quad question! I'm running a 383 SBC, aluminum heads, Pertronix Ign. I'm using a Offenhauser 5694 High Rise 360Deg Equa-Flow manifold. Using (2) Edelbrock 500 cfm AVS-2 (1903/1904). I live in Delaware, low altitude, so running the stock carb setup. I have the linkage set as 1 to 1. I believe this will work with this manifold. I set the front carb the same as the rear (primary carb). Right now the mixture is about 1.25 turns open (not really important yet) on all four locations. Question, 1. I monitor the (4) plugs at the corners, cylinder 1,7,2,8. I haven't bother with the center plugs, only because I just don't want the corners to be too lean and figured the center ones can be a little rich. The plugs are running greyish color. Is this a good method? Question 2. Is this setup acceptable with this 5694 Offenhauser Manifold. What does the 360 deg Equa-Flow mean? Here's my car 47 Chevy Fleetmaster woodie wagon. Art
The equa-flow means it has the divider under the carb and a small port in-between the two carb pads to balance the plenum front to rear. The previous version is wide open without divider and crossover tube, I run 1-1 on this style of intake.
Thanks Swade41. I remember some of that, before I installed it. I've always ran dual quads 1 to 1. I just think it is easier to setup. Art
Hey there Daddy_O. I used to live in Westminster, CO. Worked for StorageTek and then SUN, finished with Oracle. Yes, it is a real 47 Fleetmaster Woodie Wagon. 1990 it went through major restoration. When found in a field in Idaho it was missing a door. could not find door hardware, so made it a two door. All wood matches the original wood pattern. It rides on a 74 Camaro sub frame.
