Fellas, I need some input. I spent the evening in the shop and I'm trying to sort out an issue. My 8BA flatty's heads and intake are Offy. I also bought the Offy offset gen bracket, but being cast aluminum I have a lot of concern about tension on it and if I should be bracing it. Does anyone know if the upper hole on the head is made for a mounting bracket for this purpose? I suspect the lower holes are to mount the coil. Thanks for your help! No bracing needed. The upper hole in the head is for the bolt that holds the distributor in. You are correct on the lower holes. They mount the coil bracket. Hope this helps. Eddie
I appreciate you two. Just makes me a little nervous as the generator is heavy as hell already! If others have run them without issue and I keep belt tension appropriate looks like I'll be trouble free.
Yep, as long as you have a big socket/spacer to spread the load on the mounting bolt, you should be home free.
LMAO, thanks Alchemy. Couldn't find my fan for the picture. Sent from my DROID device using the TJJ mobile app
