After all the measuring and indexing on an arbor press and calipers all parties involved believe the stall converter was made incorrectly. That's two in a row than were made incorrect. It's a bad deal because it's a local speed part joint that's been around for a very long time. Now they don't make them in house as far as I know. I believe they are made for them and they are just selling them.
I haven't returned it yet. Will do this week. I was to concerned with getting the car put back together.
So with all that we will just run what we brung until next year. Plans are to go thru the motor over the winter and do something to it. So while its out we can stab on that stall we want.

Forgive me if this is the wrong place to post - but I'm in a pickle. I have a room reserved for 2 nights at the Courtyard by Mariott @ Rockford Il for meltdown, but something came up, and I'm unable to attend, and I can not get a refund. IS there anyone going from out of town that would be interested in buying the room from me? I booked through Expedia, so I can transfer, and sell at a discount. Please let me know. Mods - please PM me if this is not OK.

    Thanks,

    Jake

Back from a test with the ol girl. Man she rips!!!
Now I have a question. We are not running a kickdown cable. My transmission guy said to wire the kickdown lever on the side of the transmission open. He said it will raise the shift points much higher. On the test I started in first and then slammed it to 2nd and didn't get second. So I stabbed 3 and got a soild shift. 3rd gear.

Kid thinks we don't have the cable linkage adjusted right. I'm saying the kickdown lever open is not a good idea.
    Your thoughts please.....

So adjust only the KD rod and see if it makes any difference

It was Wernher VonBraun who said, "one good test result is worth a thousand expert opinions"
