    Smoothy:
How tall was that rear tire of yours again?
Just curious about rpm vs mph...

If you're running a 28" tall tire, and trapping about 110mph your rpm will be just shy of 7400

With a 29" tire your rpm through the traps drops to about 7100 at 110 mph.

Saw what you posted before the edit, I'd be glad to run whoever they are. I haven't purchased any slicks yet, I'm thinking the taller the the better honestly. Up to a 31

That's a good call.A 30 or 31 would take a little of that crazy rpm away off the top end,but still leave you with plenty of grunt out of the hole, and lots of traction.

Pm me about the other thing...lol

  6. You said you were thinking you were gonna run in the low 12's, that's why I was warning you. If you've got a 6-71 & 4 port Hilborn, I hope she goes better than low 12's.

I won't actually have that thing in the car for the Meltdowns, it actually came off the small block that we had running on alky in my Dad's 57. That motor is receiving a new steel crank, because the snout was bent and was nearly walking the belt off. There's just the potential threat of putting that motor in the car one day.

I think the Meltdown is the only race I know of that guys aren't mad that they lost a race but mad that the cars weren't more evenly matched to give the crowd a better show.

    That's so true.

My first pass off the trailer in 2014 was against the Gamueda Bros Anglia.
He left on me REALLY bad (I was checking out his car instead of watching the light!lol!)
That car was a VERY fast well sorted racecar, and proceeded to run away from me pretty bad.
Once he realized he was killing me,he nailed tha brakes at 1000ft,the race looked close, and everybody was happy.:)

First time I ever enjoyed losing a race..lol

    It's not that big of a deal,seriously.

If it was a big ol stroked Windsor,I'd have to run spacer plates on the intake side of the heads, cause nobody makes a tunnel ram for a Windsor motor.

If it was anything more than the 311" that it is,the Weiand pn# 1988 tunnel ram for 289/302 motors would be too small to feed it.

It's just gonna be relying on the "Three C's" to get the thing to make a little bit of power:
    -Cam
    -Compression
    -Carburetion
I had make all of the above a little more conservative than I wanted to initially, because this thing is still a street car for the most part.

If the computer simulations are in the ballpark, this thing should make almost 500hp!:)

Should be fun,but you guys are acting like I'm gonna swing a Cammer over the fender or something!lol!

Wow Scott...500 hp...that is impressive. Let us know when you find a driver...

Zettle...is it me or is there no trash talking about the Pontiacs? Is that like nobody picks on the girl with the big goiter on her face? I am impressed with self restraint and values that everyone is exhibiting by not picking on the handicapped vehicle...

There's no goiter on that GTO....It's possibly the only car at the Meltdown that's as pretty as the Okie Doker.:)

I'd like to see a showdown between those two as well!:)

    Oh and Jeffro:

There's no way you're gonna squirm out of our Match Race....;)

  20. When Marc made his first ever pass ever in the Child, I told him what to do, and he did it even better. When Jeff races Eric, Eric tells him, "get in the car, and start swinging your right arm all over creation, you know, like your trying to dislocate your shoulder, or punch your self in the eye. Then, wait for me to take off first, then follow me down track, observing your own ass whooping, er uh, I mean my driving.., that way, you can learn how to beat me from behind. Oh, and what ever you do, don't let go of the little red button on shifter, that says line lock, its Nitro Oxitaters, it'll make you go faster".

  24. The other day, I was talking to my 10 year old daughter about racing Jeff this year @ The Meltdown. She asked to see a pic of the Okie Doker, then put this together for me.., she's very artistic. Deer Midget arm wrestling.gif

Looking forward to seeing the bottom side of that Lark every time he launches.:)

That's another car I need to add to my list of "Wanna race" cars....That Lark is killer.
And that 56 is pegging the "Badass-O-Meter"!:)

See Jeff, Everyone knows the Pontiac is a more superior car. The GTO has been on the road for over 13 years now. Just a couple years ago you come to the Meltdown with a car that tries to look the part of the GTO with the Candy Apple red and such but just can't quite pull it off. I don't fault you, but you can't duplicate such high quality. Heck Arnie "The Farmer" came last year just to see the GTO run. I'm not seeing any drag race legends to date wanting to see the Okie Doker get beat by Eric.
