Heres some pics of both of mine. 62 with a 66 Grille. 351w, auto C6, disc brakes up front, one leaf removed from the front (drives like crap now but looks good), constantly changing things and modifying it. Built as a daily driver, not a show truck, and yes, I drive this truck to work EVERY DAY, rain or shine!

I never liked the uni doors IMO. I like what you did so far. Looks real good.

  4. What's the difference in the doors?

Looks close at the body line. The yellow door is a straight line that carries to the bed. The other is more of a sweptline. A newer year door.

I like the uni doors on the uni body. I think thats what sets the uni trucks out is the one straight body line angled down throughout the whole truck.

Well I have gotten a little deeper into my uni too. I got the bed floor cut out, front clip peeled off, rear suspension flipped and grabbed onto a 4v 351c and a toploader. I am still getting to the rust but i need to get the body seperated from the frame so I can finish up the rust repair and get the frame boxed to handle coming out of the hole with a manual trans.

I dig the shit out of the look of yours. If I could roll mine out it should have a similar stance if maybe a couple inches taller. Good uni doors aren't that hard to find, just seems like an awe-full lot of work to splice the two.

  10. Just a little teaser, but Bigredtodd and I have a new LSR Uni in the works. A build thread is sure to pop up in the months to come. ;)

excelent! Start your thread and get to work so I have something to aspire to. I want mine to do 125 too, just in the 1/4...

  14. I'd say a build thread is a pretty safe bet

  15. Please post a link here to your build thread when you get to it. I don't want to miss it! :D

  16. Will do! Todd and I are getting started this weekend, something to post may be ready soon.

Mine's not a uni, but it's close. I love these trucks. Thanks for starting this thread, it's spawned a few ideas for me.

Yup, your right. Looks like who ever did the floor repair didn't put the step in it! I'd bolt a door on before I went too far to make sure it clears ok. If the door clears I guess it wouldn't matter unless you a purist.

The step is there, the guy I bought it from said he wanted a larger floor
to put a different seat in. He just boxed in the drivers side, I plan on
ripping that metal off and leaving the factory step as is.
The floor is factory sheet metal.

When I get to the point of doing the floors on mine I will loose the big gap between the door and floor on mine. I dont like it when you have gaps like that.
